perhaps some out there know the history better than i do.

but it is my recollection that planned parenthood was an outgrowth of the american eugenics society - a society with pres & dorothy bush, george hw & bar as stalwart, if not founding, members.

planned parenthood’s principal mission was to trim the child-bearing of the unterklasse.

in my hometown in the 1960’s - 1970’s planned parenthood was funded by very upper crust jews and protestants.

since i grew up among that milieu, i listened to many conversations among the supporters of plannned parenthood where the goal of reducing the spawn of the unterklasse was accepted, promoted.

planned parenthood’s support of joezim is a jewish thing, i think. and it would be my bet that naral’s hq is in that affinity group as well.

could be wrong. and i am always willing to be corrected. i just recall pp in columbus, ohio.

oddly enough, just for a final note, though i wasn’t living there at the time, during a visit in the 1990’s, i recall seeing the burnt-out hq of ohio pp. seems that the anti-birth control terrorists in central ohio fire-bombed the building.

it is also my recollection that they were never branded as terrorists. and i think that no concerted effort to find the perps was conducted.

which causes me to recommend uprisingradio.org to you. especially the speech that was aired today on pacifica. by chris hedges, on the growth of cristian fascism.

for your listening pleasure.

rwcole, Lieberman’s going to help block a right wing supreme court appointment? When has that ever happened?

RWCole 118

HoJo winning the general wouldn’t be Lamont’s fault, right?

It’d be because Joe didn’t abide by the results of the primary wouldn’t it?

Imman- Angry? Where do you detect that? I’m not angry- I am, however, interested in a dem majority in the senate- it’s the only way to block another conservative supreme court appointment. I would only be angry if the tumblers moved in such a way that the connecticut seat ends up being the crucial one for settling control and Joe wins the general and auctions the vote. If that happened- I would be VERY angry.

imm - rwcole is a consummate numbers guy. I think it’s just that. A fresh batch of polling data should help us all!

PS, There must be something going on with you, rwcole, on this issue, because it seems to make you so mad — and you seem to lose your normal well placed perspective that I respect so much. I would be curious to hear why you feel so passionately that Lamont must lose the primary.

So, I must admit that everytime it comes up, I just don’t get it — Exactly HOW is Lieberman 1) going to win the general election or 2) tip it to the Republicans.

On the first one, I see no scenario where Lieberman, if he loses the primary, wins the election. Republicans will still primarily vote for the Republican candidate and Democrats will generally vote for the Democratic candidate. Plus, Joe will liose his entire ground game. Labor will go with Lamont and all the GOTV will go to Lamont. Lieberman will have to spend his own campaign money (not Connecticut Democratic campaign funds). The guy cannot win.

2) It s possible that Lieberman could be a spoiler a la Jacob Javits in New York vis a vis Liz Holzman against D’Amato. That was a veryu bad/sad situation for sure. But things are different in Connecticut — it is a MUCH blue-er state than New York was (or is now), NY has always had a huge upstate Republican vote that had to be dented to get in a democratic senator. Even Hillary worked very hard upstate to get elected. Not so in Connecticut. But, if Lieberman took, say 20 -30 % of the vote, perhaps the Republican could eek out a victory over the Dem primary winner. But I suspect Lieberman will sink like a rock once those people who he is currently threatening see he is really vulnerable. People LIKED Jacob Javits, remember.
