Well it’s been a very exciting day, and now I’m pretty damned thrilled to announce that Donita Sparks, formerly of L7 and the author of such anthemic songs as Let’s Pretend We’re Dead, Shitlist and Can I Run, will be joining the FDL crew as our music columnist. She’s going to be doing a whole bunch of innovative stuff — from introducing new music, video podcasting of requested cover songs and all sorts of other assorted mischief — each Friday morning at 11:00 am (debuting this coming Friday).
She’ll also be around to chat with folks which will undoubtedly include me because Donita is my idol and I happen to be her biggest, most unapologetic fan in the world. The fabulous Fini Finito who runs the MySpace Page for the Roots Project will be helping her out with the technical side of things, so we hope to be pushing the bloggy outer limits .
In the mean time you can enjoy Donita’s new video, Infancy of a Disaster, courtesy of YouTube (above).
And if anyone has found any YouTube treasures recently, feel free to leave them in the comments for the rest of us YouTube addicts. Time for some pre-4th of July musical fireworks.
(PS — Teddy’s first diary could use a few recommends from Kossacks over here.)

Yay, firedoglake goes multi-media! And on Friday morning, too.
Thanks for the support, firepoodles, for my first dK diary. Had I known it was that easy to be a diarist, I suppose I would have started long ago. But, being on dK does take time away from being here….
For a day that had little planned and certainly no news on deck, this sure turned out to be a busy one. Nothing motivates the ‘roots like turn-tail Joe-nertia. Scurry, Joe, scurry!

And just for variety, here’s a couple that I like:
Boney M – “Rasputin”
The Darkness – “I Believe In A Thing Called Love”

Hey, have a wonderful 4th everyone. It was great spending time here at FDL today.
A couple more favorite music videos:
Rammstein – “Sonne” (uncharacteristically beautiful chorus, and freaky Snow-White-as-gold-junkie-dominatrix video)
New Order – “True Faith” (one of my all-time favorite videos, completely inexplicable)

At last count, with 76 votes tallied, the vote was still 100 percent on your poll at DailyKos for the proposition that Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid should pledge to support the winner of the Connecticut Democratic primary.
I left a lengthy comment to your diary. Here is an excerpt:
“Senatorial courtesy, the good-old-boy club, the Incumbent Preservation Society, whatever you want to call it, Reid would be making a major mistake to side with Democrats of dubious party loyalty such as Charles Schumer (D-NY)who choose to interfere in the Connecticut Democratic Party’s nomination process and refuse to commit to supporting the party’s nominee after the primary. If that is Reid’s idea of leadership, then the slogan should be ‘Get the Hell Out, Harry.’”

That #35 link is going into my heavy rotation, from the Tom Jones show. Utterly fab.
Well said neurophius.
Primaries are dry runs for the elections. They measure who will actually cast a vote. Today, Joe Liebermann just leveraged all his name recognition, payed for by Al Gore, to tell the Democratic Primary to go “Dick Cheney” themselves. Joementum’s selfishness trashes the whole process and really hurts all the other “smaller” races in CT.
It may also have the unintended impact of increasing the impact netroots can have in the CT primary. Joe just “pulled the rug out” from underneath all those Dems who have been running all along as though they had to rely on Joe’s coat tails to survive the primary.
I will limit myself to one (dial up) question about youtube. Is the sound quality good? Janis, Vanbuffalo you guys are brutal. lol

I was wondering whether the Pakistanis are taking over the franchise operations, as a substitute for *ilson’s pomegranates in payment for the F-16s. They produce on schedule (let’s see, when might that be?…) and get to keep the planes (signing payment), plus maybe some parts, training, etc. (retainer). Talk about a need to re-invent government!
Okay, there’s a crack in the main fuel tank, and there are–literally–vultures in the air. Does anyone else think that a 4th of July launch of the space shuttle (Motto: Only 50% of the fleet has gone ka-blewie!) is a spectacularly bad idea? I mean, I really hope the launch goes off without a hitch and this turns into a warm and fuzzy 4th of July story, but I think NASA is taking one hell of a gamble here.

Awesome news about Donita! I love L7, they’re the band I usually end up listening to when I’m pissed off…and this Administration has made me pissed off a lot, so you can imagine how much I’ve been listening to their cds lately hehe.

As to the shuttle. I’ll say it again. The ISS has to be finished so that they can have a platform to launch ICBM’s off of. NASA estimates it will take 64 more missions! How many are they willing to kill for a “new world order?” Buzzards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FProbst, I too will be crossing my fingers and holding my breath. Remember watching the launch of the one a few years ago when the commentator mentioned at the time that some kind of debris seemed to be flying off the rocket?
The dreamer in me would like to see space travel continued somehow, but the practical aspects—some quite obvious, like the effects on materials of repeated freezing and thawing—and NASA’s organizational culture really have me worried for the astronauts.

oh, and eli — that Klaus safety video is just disturbing. You owe me a total of 15:23 now….
Stephen 59 — I’d never seen that. Love Viv Stanshall. My (perennially mentioned) favorite, Sir Henry at Rawlinson End, was once described as a movie “written, produced, directed by and starring alcoholics.” It’s brilliant, a must-see for the Harry Hutton fan.
YouTube doesn’t have the video-video, but they have a live version of “Rocks”
Ex-cellent…
Another favorite blast from the past – used to be on U68 in NYC all the time back in the day, but I never saw nor heard it anywhere else: New Order – “Shellshock”.
Stephen 77 — now I”m disappointed, I thought it was a YouTube of “4th of July.”

Or maybe it’s just too boring to mention, I dunno.
Eli … Ms Divine was …just divine.
I think I might actually prefer that to the original.
yikes! i got l7 mixed up w/luscious jackson…
i’m so unhip..
here’s what i can’t figure out. if the space shuttle is damaged nasa says the crew can wait at the space station for a rescue shuttle. so what if the rescue shuttle gets damaged and that crew is also stuck at the space station. do they all just eat each other alive and the last one gets really fat and comes home with the russians?
Teddy hit the recommended list!!! WOO HOO!!!!
You’re a rock star, Teddy.
I mean, I really hope the launch goes off without a hitch and this turns into a warm and fuzzy 4th of July story, but I think NASA is taking one hell of a gamble here.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. And utterly heartless toward the astronauts. How cynical am I that I just see this as a big, craven grab at the whole trailer trash pie?
But, hey, you know? What’s a few more American lives sacrificed to the President’s vanity? He’s killed 3000 soldiers in Iraq. What’s a few astronauts?
Here’s a politically symbolic one:
Camouflage – “The Great Commandment”.
Donita?
Cool, that’s my little sister’s name.
Donita – Welcome to FDL! I used to be a music columnist. It is a big responsibility. I wrote for a small circulation daily, but you’re on the cutting edge of the next journalism paradigm. Keep that in mind, and your talent and creativity will carry you on through to that other side we’re so close to.
siun – I did the recommend button thingie.
Jane – I am so afraid to get into YouTube. I’m 59, there’s so little time to finish MY work.
all here interested in Frank Probst’s apprehension about the shuttle – I remember one of my first thoughts as I watched the Columbia unravel over Texas was, “Bush has got to be the unluckiest President….”
I mean, I really hope the launch goes off without a hitch and this turns into a warm and fuzzy 4th of July story, but I think NASA is taking one hell of a gamble here.

It’s not like anything bad has ever happened before when we launched under less-than-ideal conditions…
A shuttle explosion is not a rally-’round-the-president type event, correct?
In this case, it’s more like a “What were you *thinking*???” event. Could they be actively trying to squash the shuttle program?

FWIW, when the Rebels fired on Fort Sumter in 1861, they were trying to drive Federal troops out of South Carolina. They made a horrible miscalculation, as that action made South Carolina the “aggressors” in the eyes of the nation, just the opposite of the “states rights” image they wanted to project. Their action also wrecked the more moderates in the South, especially Virginia where most of the bloodiest battles were fought.
It seems to me that Howard Dean maybe able to “leverage” Lieberman’s betrayl of the Primary system as a referendum right now for the entire Democratic party. We don’t have to wait until November to hold DINO’s accountable. If we keep doing what we’re doing, every fund raiser that Reid, Clinton, Schumer, …. and all the rest attend, people will ask them about the CT primary. Will they pledge to support the winner?
IMO, the best scenario for Ned and for the Democratic party would be if we put so much pressure on the leadership that they all had to pledge to support the winner of the CT primary. In the best of all possible worlds this might force Joe to recant his threat to run as an

I so agree that pushing this iffy launch on the Fourth of July is nutz.
Shoot, I resented their sending off a launch on my birthday one year. If it went blooey, I didn’t want to have that anniversary hanging over my B-day every year.

I will never be able to see the name of the band Slade without thinking about this DJ I heard on the radio in London in 1990. He had just played that Run Runaway song and he said, jokingly, “And that was the band SHLAHR-day with ‘Run Runaway’. She’s changed her sound a bit, hasn’t she?”
For the record, “Run Runaway” was the last vinyl single that I ever bought.
Hey Coz, last night you commented that Moose dated Coulter according to a Red Sox site.
Was that hate Yankee rhetoric or is Moose that despicable?
CLETER!!!
Where have you BEEN?!
Eli 22, Geez, that german dude on the fork lift, that was some sick puppy who concieved of that gem.
I always end up wondering whether that actually *is* a real forklift training video…
And if you want to talk sick puppies, I give you… Billy’s Balloon (by the same guy who did “Rejected”)
For the record, “Run Runaway” was the last vinyl single that I ever bought.
*Cough.* No pun intended, of course.
Mine was Sinead O’Connor’s “Mandinka”. 7″ single. Now, I bought 12″ remixes and EP’s well into the 90’s because I was DJ-ing.
What is this “vinyl” of which you speak?
Hi TRex
I’ve been working. On an island. With no internet. It was kind of odd.
Sorry, neurophius, how about this one:
Retrying the DailyKos Frontpage
“Could they be actively trying to squash the shuttle program?”
My take is that reading the morning paper for the WH is like running through an unmapped minefield.
Joenertia wants to talk about Iraq.
IMHO, the WH figures the odds are in their favor that this one will not blow up. If it does, they’ll just blame it on the Democrats and it takes attention away from things blowing up in the Middle East.
On the island, we had no internet, but one of the guys had brought a victrola. No, I’m serious. A victrola. And a bunch of 78s. He brought his victrola because the electricity was a bit iffy. And because he really liked the WWI music, a lot of which is surprisingly dirty.
Dang it. I was able to resist the sultry, siren call of You-Tube until neuro posted Neil Young Like A Hurricane.
The secret to youtube on a dialup is to turn the volume completely down and let the song load. After the entire video is finished loading in starts and blips, just hit play again, turn the sound up and enjoy the entire video without interruption.
A victrola, I believe, is the 1918 equivalent of youtube.
IMHO, the WH figures the odds are in their favor that this one will not blow up.
Makes sense. They’re very good at planning for the best-case scenario.
Outta here early. My band plays late tomorrow morning for an hour before the local 4th of July parade starts – Sousa, Fillmore, King, Ballad of the Green Berets (my arrangement), Louie Louie, some polkas, Mustang Sally, Gimme Some Lovin’, Pink Panther, Col. Bogie, etc…..
I’m not even playing. I’m bringing out the big guns here. Prepare to be blown away; Kaki King- Ingots.
If you get a chance to see her live, you can thank me later.
Jane,
If you look up Musikladen (a German TV program) they have Stills with Manassas live in the studio from ‘72. It’s 45 minutes of heaven and boy, does that Chris Hillman rock. He partnered with McGuinn, Gram Parsons, and Stephen, all before 1975! And he’s a real mensch.
How about The New Pornographers? (Warning: No actual pornography)
On the island, we had no internet, but one of the guys had brought a victrola. No, I’m serious. A victrola. And a bunch of 78s. He brought his victrola because the electricity was a bit iffy. And because he really liked the WWI music, a lot of which is surprisingly dirty.
Um, did Gabriel Garcia Marquez write your vacation, cleter?
Here’s a weakness of mine: Tori Amos. I will be the first to concede that her output could use a bit stricter quality control, but every now and then she makes something that makes me want to just lay down on the floor.
There is a sub-suite within her work that seems to deal with a CIA operative who was killed in action. There are several characters that flit in and out of her lyrics, and this song is one of the ones that seems to deal with that particular narrative:
Tori Amos, “Spark”
Tori Amos’s music is like licorice or anise seed. You either love it or hate it, not many people are in between.
ahem…here
John Casper,
“Hey Coz, last night you commented that Moose dated Coulter according to a Red Sox site.
Was that hate Yankee rhetoric or is Moose that despicable?”
SOSH is the bible of Red Sox sites. Gammons reads it every day and Curt Shilling used to post there as “G38″ ; ) It’s a closed admission site now. Mostly sat heads, attorneys, doctors and such post there. Hard core Red Sox fans. I believe the Ann Coulter bit, she was spotted about town with Mussina by SOSH’ers ; )

op99, if you’re still awake, i gotta say that kid singing opera was pretty kewl….
And I’d win. Again. ;-)
Coz, if you believe it, that’s good enough for me.
Thanks.
hey, hope, happy independence day!

Hopey Turtle, every time I read your name, it makes me happy. I don’t always chuckle, but I at least smile.
is it always about the winning for the universes?
Universe always kicks *my* ass, anyway…
Thanks Teddy…hold down the Castro for me…I miss home so much. Ever go to The Eagle? Boy they used have great beer busts…Happy Indy Day to you Sir.
Same here TRex…you are a gentleman and a scholar…Happy 4th.
I’ll continue on my Kaki King crusade with Playing with Pink Noise.
Seriously, you’ll be impressed.
through some miracle of uncharacteristic willpower I’ve successfully resisted the siren song of YouTube, other than the occasional dabble. it wouldn’t even be a slippery slope were I succumb. added to my FDL habit, it would be total all-encompassing catastrophe.
(TRex, the Marvin Gaye was cool.)
… i hardly ever go to the Eagle anymore, i used to hang there every sunday passing out condoms and lube at the beer bust. fun times…..
I am still downloading Neil Young on my dial-up. And I see C&L has up SRV and Albert King doing Matchbox Blues. I’m gonna be downloading half the night.

ESPN analyst Gammons ‘resting comfortably’
Associated Press
Jun. 29, 2006
“BOSTON – Peter Gammons, an ESPN analyst and member of the writers wing of the baseball Hall of Fame, was in good condition Wednesday at a Boston hospital after surgery for a brain aneurysm….”
Have been fretting about the launch since it caught my attention with the first delay – cynically saw it as a perfect Rovian stunt to distract the masses from the drip drip drip of the netroots, Fitz, etc et al. My relief was great when it looked like the flight was grounded. Now I’m really worried and continue to hope the “mission” is scrubbed for the last thing the world needs is one more avoidable tragedy and on Independence Day no less.
Just posted a rant on the DSCC site and was disappointed that my comments were only the second post.
Hope night owls and morning doves here at the lake will head over to the site and give those rascals something to ponder.
Gonna drag my tired old bones to bed.
Heck of a job today Jane & Reddhead and all – rock on!

WOW!
jane, that is so awesome about donita. that new video is great! she’s reminding me of grace slick (in a good way, not “wrecking ball” era). and the old clip of L7 was fantastic.
here are some of my favorites on youtube, a couple of which i posted on atrios last night:
The Sweet – Block Buster
The Sweet – Fox on the Run
X – Los Angeles
Circle Jerks – Red Tape (from Decline 1)
1970 Dodge Charger 500 tv commercial – i own one, i love this commercial
welcome, donita. you’re awesome, like jane.

Frank Probst @ 9:52 pm (#51) – I think it’s a bad sign when the safety director refuses to approve a launch. Little pieces breaking off the thing isn’t a good sign, either.
The shuttle really should have been a prototype or experimental design, with a follow-on after ten years. Instead, we were sold something that was supposed to be a workhorse vehicle. I think it’s going to take a few more design cycles before we reach that point. Congress, and maybe the public, aren’t willing to pay for that, so here we are.
John Casper,
I found this in an old email I sent to a friend a little over a year ago. Curt quit posting there when the media found out he was posting at SOSH as “G38″…
Curt Shilling aka G38…
“I was told by a veteran player “If you are gonna pitch inside ok, but if you keep drilling people, and I get drilled, and hurt, I am not gonna be pissed at their guy, I am coming after you.”
The big leagues is not the place to learn how to do it. Fact of the matter is Kazmir has hit the same people in his last few starts against us, I don’t think he did it on purpose, I don’t know, but if you are going to drill our guys, consistently, then there’s a price.”
Ed*ard Teller at 106: It looks like the YearlyKos video may have fallen out of C-SPAN’s “recent programs” online archive. You can buy the programs on DVD here, and LinkTV/Fora.tv has quite a few programs available for free (you have to register, but there’s no charge.)

Not as good musically. Topically, yeah.
The world is getting a “Brazil” sort of feel. Some recent dealings with thick bureaucracy, and all. Not hopeless, but ten years ago, I could never have imagined we’d be in this particular fight.
Bad Spanish alert, and sorry if this has been mentioned:
Echáis una mirada para El Titere (Go take a gander at the marionette, y’all). “Well it is nice to hear him speak truth”
Thanks Coz.
IMHO, the hitters are usually the problem. They are “diving” to get to the outside corner. Anything inside will hit them, but the pitcher has a right to the plate too.
neurophius @ 11:54 pm (#179) – Is everyone off watching YouTube, or just asleep?

I left a message on the DSCC blog a few hours ago about Lieberman and the challenge that his cut and run poses for the DSCC. I just went back and checked, and they had scrubbed it from the site. At least, I could not find it. It was critical of the DSCC leadership but was not nasty. I think there was at least one other comment with a similar message; it is (or they are) also gone. The most recent comments they have are from Friday. It’s as if Joenertia’s press conference today did not happen. I guess they can’t handle “diversity,” to use one of Joementum’s phrases. I would encourage people to go there throughout the holiday and leave comments. They may not stay up long, but at least the DSCC will be hearing from us.
Here is the link to the DSCC blog:

i saw your comment in a post about the site at booman tribune… your comment is the last one in the article.
neuro, my mistake, it was at corrente wire – here’s the link
http://www.correntewire.com/oo…..ade_a_mess
Is this the comment you are talking about:
Senator Joe Lieberman’s announcement that he is taking steps to run for the U.S. Senate as an independent candidate if he loses the August Democratic Primary in Connecticut poses a critical challenge to the DSCC. Will it preserve its integrity as a Democratic Party adjunct organization by staying neutral in the Connecticut Senate primary and pledging to support the Democratic nominee, and only the Democratic nominee, in the general election, whoever that may be? Or will it breach the trust of Democrats, including its contributers, by interfering in the Connecticut Democratic Party’s nominating process or by supporting a candidate who runs against the Democratic nominee in the general election? If the latter, I for one intend to make all future contributions to selected Democratic Senate candidates like Ned Lamont, and not to the DSCC. It is imperative that the DSCC renounce Lieberman’s ill-advised and disloyal scheme to have it both ways.

And even if I could, I know I would F it up just the same anyway. Remarkable how insight into one’s own condition can be both utterly useless and yet also the most frustrating knowledge to ever become aware of.
This damn YouTube should come with a Government health warning!
Scared everyone away I guess. Oh well, here gose the other 1/4.

Whew, lucky escape. Found a nice Longmore I’d put awa’.
Well, save for one illuminating contribution from Herr Werner, looks like I’ve closed this thread down for nearly 1 1/2 hours. But dammit, this is FDL of all places. That’s got to be worth something.
Hey, maybe somebody can link me to one of those Al Qaida web sites. Do I have the ultimate stealth weaponry or what? They won’t know what hit them.

Hey Paul! I was going for a total 2 hr shut-down but you fixed that.
I dissed you, quite appropriately I thought, a few months ago when you gave ventured your opinion about FDL’s lightweight commenters over on some other, much more “serious”, blog.
I thought it was pretty cool to bust you. But now, to spoil it all, you catch me here, proving your point to a ‘T’.
In my defence – you gotta make some allowances. I’m not doin’ too bad so far (thanks in part to some very good Scotch).
So… you wanna talk some serious stuff? Politics, Pet Shop Boys, Bananarama, that kind of thing?
It’s 7:20am EST on the Fourth of July.
Do you know where your country went?
I thought it was pretty cool to bust you. But now, to spoil it all, you catch me here, proving your point to a ‘T’.
you’re not busted… and my observation wasn’t about “lightweight commenters” so much as it was about the increasing difficulty in having a focussed, serious discussion with FDL becoming more popular.
(IMHO, there is a inverse proportional relationship between a blogs popularity and the usefulness of its comments sections.)
Fourth of July readings:

2. You could just read the original. I heard NPR’s annual reading and it’s amazingly, shamefully apt. Even if you’re shy a human audience, I suggest an oral reading.

righteous!
I must admit to not being very serious or focussed right now, since its late, and with 1 a bit Bowmore & Longmore onboard to keep me going. Presumably early for you.
Apologies for the unwarranted needling very cool you didn’t give it back (especially since I really deserve it tonight).
Always appreciate your comments, wherever I find them.
I saw L7 several times when I lived in LA. They rocked as hard as anyone. I remember being in the fron row one night at Coconut Teasers. I think they had a song called “Hungry for Stink” which I thought was funny.

Good Morning Patriots,
A Happy and Glorious Fourth To Us All !
general techie question – found a great interactive site – would love to be able to display it as each person makes their contributions – is there a simple means to accomplish this or is this something at the page designer level ?
forgive me, first cup and all
I’d be curious to see how enthusiastic the average Connecticutian (-ite?) -oid?) will be to actually sign this petition if approached by a “volunteer.”
I have questions about it too–does he have to petition registered democrats? independents only? how many signatures does he need? How much cash is it going to take to get this thing done? How are Lieberman’s cash-on-hand numbers, anyway? I mean, who out there is donating to him?
I would not be surprised if getting the # of signatures he needs turns out to be more difficult than he thinks.
I should have prefaced that last entry with “OT, about the Lieberman campaign”–topic needs a little foreshadowing.
Cut ‘n’ Run Joe needs a minimum of 7500 valid signatures to get on the ballot as an “Apostate Democrat” — he’s always been tight with the corporate interests (big bucks) in CT so he can well afford the crew. Petitioning efforts just take time: people sign pretty easily — you could get signatures to put Nikita Khruschev on the ballot as Pope !
With friends like Donna Brazile, you don’t need enemies. Ms. Brazile, a professed supporter of Clueless Joe (ah, there punaise, remember Shoeless Joe Jackson?) has this to say in this morning’s Times article:
All these supposedly helpful words do is to underline the fact that Joe is NOT doing the things she suggested, and is therefore no real Democrat. Does anyone else think that Donna will be persona non grata with the Lieberman campaign beginning now?
Good morning and Happy Fourth, you patriotic pups, you!
I just ambled by Glenn’s on my way in. Found him examining “[a] few (perversely) humorous holiday items” — i.e., the Malkin-Horowitz crowd’s splats on the valley floor soooo far below that “treasonous-NYT-Travel-section!” cliff they overshot with such gusto.
Oh, and he too is enchanted by Pell-Mell Pammy’s video . . .
yesterday afternoon, right after Cut ‘n’ Run Joe actually cut and ran, Donna Brazile opined on CNN that the DSCC would have to support the winner of the CT Primary …

Thanks for that Mongrain clip!
I read a very short article about Kaki King a couple of years back in Guitar World Acousitc and bought her CD on a whim and I’ve been an impressed fan ever since. She’s opened a gateway to Michael Hedges and Leo Kottke and hours of frustration (joy?) trying to make some sounds similar to theirs on my guitar. Sometimes I think my guitars are just broken.
Did Cut’n’Run finally approach zero in that wfsb poll? Guess they took it down — last I saw, Ned had 96%.
How’s Act Blue looking this morning?
Hi gang! In my pothead youth I had a cat named Stonita.
Loved L7 so this is good.
Now to read thread – wish I wasn’t on dialup for all the youtube delectations I’m certain to find
Thanks to me kids, I actually have multiple YouTube favorites. The kids make me play them all over and over again.
The family favorite has to be The Ramayana Monkey Chant, which we learned about through Scott Hacker’s excellent Foobar Blog.
Also via Scott Hacker: South African Spoon Guitar.
Hint: Scott Hacker also runs a very nice WordPress host in case you’re looking for one. Just sayin’.
Then there is the awesome and somewhat famous Jake Shimabukuro ukulele solo, which truly is an amazing virtuoso performance.
My own favorite is the balls-out energy of DCI Blast! Malaguena. Oh Baby!

If we have a smackdown between Schumer and Brazile, my dime is on Donna.
Try to work this one into the mix. It says it all:
“While you were sleeping, they came and took it all away…It was an inside job; by the well-connected, your little protest, summarily rejected. It was an inside job, like it always is. Chalk it up to business as usual.” Don Henley, “Inside Job” CD

It’s taken me 2 hours to get through this entire thread…yeesh. I’m driving my family crazy with the electic mix of content, although they all were absolutely silent, the little guy sat on my lap for the entirety of 20 minutes of Kaki King clips. (Thanks, grs!)
And now my contribution, for a quiet Independence Day morning: George Benson and Breezin’ (1978). Not the best production values, but wow, does it collapse time for me.

Right on!
Sorry — couldn’t help myself for popping in to say . . .
