He concluded that, based on my reaction to the trailer, I’d be interested in seeing the full feature length film. </p> <p>I ended up never seeing it, at all. Too young. Here’s how I think it works. Coulter, Malkin, and others like them see the Rethuglican party as a party of “he-men”- men who are simple and straightforward- not nuanced, not sophisticated, and having no nurturing qualities. They are the John Waynes and Clint Eastwoods- you know the type- they see things in the simplest terms, in black and white instead of shades of gray. Coulter, et al. believe that women had better act tough in order to be accepted by the he-men in the party. They know that women who don’t act tough get relegated to the traditional female duties- stay at home, cook, clean, care for the kids and serve the he-man. Coulter, Malkin, and their ilk love acting like one of the boys because that gives them the right to speak out, unlike their subservient, good Christian women counterparts in the party who have to act like Stepford wives.
