Very late but the thread doesn’t say closed

and the comment by *ilson, as moderator is just out of line:
“Holy Joe wont turn a light switch off or on during the Sabbath. While it “neither beggars my purse, breaks my leg or endangers my immortal soul” it is plain weird!” At least if you are going to attempt joke insults (viewing your comment in best light) try and do as well as the Helen Thomas jibe, bring all the issues together, and make people laugh even though they know its not nice. I just don’t get the constant stream of base humor of conjuring up Rove’s fat ass, Rush’s limp balls, or mAnnliness. “Well, Savage does it”" is not a redeeming answer.

So from the late trend of comments it is clear that Joe’s stand on Iraq war has ‘nothing’ to do with the anger. Is it actually because 1) as a relgious fundamentalist he is the same as OBL, or 2) is it because of ‘dual loyalties’, or rather 3) he’s just not a “real Democrat”. Thanks for the insight. (and yes, I did read all of the other reasons cited, much more than I knew before, by why is every complaint backed by assumption that Joe is somehow deceitful if his judgement, belief, or information is different than yours? - and you are still going to support him if he wins the primary?) And yes, Democrats in other states are paying attention - its starting to look something like two drivers fighting over the steering wheel as the bus goes over the cliff. Reid’s “consequences” comment may have a different cutting edge if you’re not careful, and respectful of your own team and thier supporters. Insult are what is remembered after the politics of the lost election are long forgotten. You’re right to scramble away from the frame of a war litmas (sp) test, but the accusative vitreol on that point

This is the type of crap that gets reflected back on the party in an election. You demand Joe to be a “good Democrat” and pledge endorsement while you savage the very core morality of the person who is an 18 yr. incumbant D. Senator. If you are all so right on all of the issues that you broadly claim are the real reasons to knife Joe, why not just stick to the facts and issues rather than the slime? Slime won’t change my mind, but unspun facts could.

Moderator - please take public resposibility for your attack on religious beliefs. Correct me if you think I’m wrong.

[…] So - I am not casting purity scolds over those 71 posts. But with the post from Billmon… And if you look at the opening of just this one post (of the 71) from the ‘’Lakers’’. Note what they slam Joe Lieberman for. I wish I could impute nefarious intent to the effort of traditional media types to make the blogosphere’s opposition Joe-nertia “all about the war,” but if I had to guess I’d say it was more due to abject laziness and a lack of native curiosity. As I’ve written many, many times before, my rabid lambiness took root during the Alito cloture vote, when Lieberman sided with the Gang of 14 to put a sexist, elitist, fundamentalist Dobson-loving bigot like Strip Search Sammy on the Supreme Court. I feared the country could not survive another one. And when interviewed for the new Time Magazine article on the race, Markos noted that he himself had said “enough” after Lieberman dicked everyone around on Social Security. […]

If anyone needs a quick pick me up, Howie Klein has a post with a clip of the Tester vs. Burns debate. Tester slamdunks it. It’s a very, very good feeling.

As a Democrat from Ct all I can say is that the elephant in the room is that Holy Joe represents a country in the Middle-East and not Ct. I am a supporter of that country’s right to be free and independent but I want two Senators in Washington representing our concerns not one(Dodd, who by the way is off on a trip somewhere thinking he could be President,LOL, must be the Washington air).

Schumer. I want to say something, but I am too angry.
There is every reason to support Lamont. Everything that Lieberman stands for is bad for us locals. The cutting and slashing of public funds for the benefit of Dick Cheny and Halliburton and their ilk is IMHO devastating to cities like New Haven. (& Lamont has experience in the Bridgport school system so he is not unaware and really seems to get it.) Things have gotten worse. Much worse since the Clinton era. And what’s more, a lot of people are more worried about soldiers and people abroad and in New Orleans than themselves. But let’s not forget the frightening effects of Medicare D on the elderly. Or the scare effects of Bush’s social security “plan” which Lieberman supported/supports. Or Lieberman’s negative attitude toward gays and same-sex marriage which sanctions dangerous troglodyte attitudes among the population. & Then there is Alito.
If Schumer can support all of the above (& I am not even finished), then I say he is not even a Democrat. Sorry for the rant.

When Holy Joe said Howard Dean was “in his own spider hole of denial” for telling the truth that the capture of Saddam Hussein didn’t make us any safer. THAT is when I first wanted to see Joementum (sounds like a laxative, is in fact the product of taking one) kicked to the curb.

During the 2000 Florida recount, Lieberman went on the Sunday talk shows, and%u2014without having conferred first with Gore or anyone%u2014said that all the military votes should be counted, even though many of them were illegal, in many cases because they had been cast after election day.It was a really important issue and he threw away enough votes to have made Gore the winner.
