By “pie” he of course meant percentages as in pie chart. Funny thing though I’ve noticed with both MSNBC’s Rita Cosby AND CNN’s Paula Zahn, they both try to work the word “SHOCKING” in their intros of what coming up every chance they get. Not a dimes worth of difference.

I think that trailer trash pie is the one that junior evil promised to make higher.

You know exactly what ‘trailer trash pie’ is.

I lived in a trailer for a while, shortly after being kicked out of high school (it was my parents’ choice — the trailer, that is…). Just so happened I was in the middle of coming out during the latter part of that time, so I guess you could say that, for a happy while, I served up some pretty nice trailer trash pie myself (to the right sort of boy, that is).

And the spray-can whipped topping could be fun, but messy. But then wasn’t everything? Sigh — now that’s nostalgia!

This reminds me of the latest Apple ad, where the Mac and PC discuss the pie chart (”Work vs. Home”). I could just see a remix of that with Cal Thomas’s comment, I’m laughing out loud just thinking of it.

We really shouldn’t make jokes about trailer trash. There was a moving diary about kids growing up in trailer parks and how humiliating it is for them when someone from uptown visits them. Poor people have dignity and self-respect too and it is really so sad the way poor people are treated by media in this country. As a wiseman once said – don’t be ashamed of poverty; try to get out of it.
