good god, just now watching cnn and this ignorant bim talking to ed henry, bemoaning that her little prince didn’t get the ‘big bounce’ this past week she was expecting, just a feeble little point or two. and then cnn slides into a masturbatory segment on blackwater mercenaries.

you wonder why timewarner doesn’t understand that their continual loss of viewers might have something to do with the ever-devolving shallow, piss poor ‘reporting’. hell, they aren’t even attracting the mouthbreathers — who will never desert foxnews.

the only value to cnn is to understand the gop propaganda being disseminated.

Lobstergirl at 94 — actually, Russert wrote into the NYTimes to complain about that interview. Apparently he spent an hour and a half talking with the reporter about his mom, and only a small portion talking about his dad, but it was edited to make him look like an ass. And it was the first Mother’s Day since his mom passed away. It was a crap thing to do. I’ll see if I can find a link to his LTE, but he let the reporter have it.

I’m new to posting here (though I’ve been reading every day for weeks now - can’t get enough!). Can anyone explain why on earth the Dems in office don’t bring up national security as an issue? We are no safer, as Christy points out. Who would want the guys who “planned” Iraq, or “managed” Katrina in charge of security at Macy’s, let alone for the US? In my opinion, the Dems have to get a spine (or get one cloned from Russ Feingold) and start to remind people that the war in iraq has done nothing to make us safer (just the opposite).
Anyway, thanks for all the interesting posts - its great to know people care and are engaged in this process.

Here’s the really funny bit from Michael Sherer’s Salon article today:

Rep. Walter Jones, the North Carolina Republican who invented the phrase “freedom fries,” invited me into his Capitol Hill office Thursday morning, a cluttered space festooned from floor to ceiling with military memorabilia, Pentagon plaques and photographs of soldiers. Then he pulled out an e-mail he had recently received from an Army captain who served in Iraq.

The e-mail quoted another American soldier serving in Iraq, a voice that Jones wanted people to hear. “Tell all those assholes in D.C. to get us the f— out of here. This is bullshit,” Jones said, reading from the e-mail, but choosing not to pronounce the f-word in full. “Either that or tell them to tell Bush to send over the twins. They can bunk with me. That would be useful.”

Those are the 2 paragraphs that precede the ones Christy quoted. I LMFA Off!

cbl - that’s my boy! Modest and funny. He’s going to need all the help he can get. Arnie’s already going negative on him, and cleverly, too. Have you seen the first attack ad?

Everything is in reverse - cars, people walking, kids at school - and the voice over is about Phil wanting to raise taxes, taking us back to the bad-old-days of high taxes that drove all business out of the state.

Shit.

Howdy Folks-

Been working way too many twelves…trying to catch up on comments when possible. So sad that YKOS was not in my cards this year, but proud to be listening to our fearless women on the Plame Panel.

#1 Is anyone laughing that Walter Jones just knifed the Chimp with that letter from the Front? A Republican Rep. handing a letter that references the Twins, and their usefulness as bunkmates, to a reporter is pretty f-ing funny in my book.

#2 From the Hippity Hoppity thread…just this a.m. my husband was suiting up for a hearing, and put on the poplin. Then turned to me and asked if it was “okay” to be wearing a poplin suit this early in June. Huh? I’m DairyMaid, not FashionQueen. Don’t ask me. Apparently, when he was a youngster summer associate at a large D.C. firm, he wore a Poplin suit early in June. One of the older women took him aside, and informed him that it was not proper to wear poplin until after June 21.
Apparently the cat killer and Ricky did not get the message.

#3 Missing some posters lately…EPU,have I just missed your posts? And Karen Allen…has Mean Jean held her prisoner? What about Grandpa…lurking maybe? Just wondering.

Cheers to all!
