The DLC was originally funded by a handful or Jewish real estate moguls concerned about the party’s position on Israel. They still provide the basic cash flow.

Everything else — and I mean everything else — is just so much bullshit to distract the eye from that original purpose.

The DLC would never, ever support anyone that its funders thought “unsound” on American-Israeli relations.

There is only one thing even remotely interesting about Wittman: at what point will he jump ship (a/k/a “flip flop”) back to the Republican party (if he ever really “switched to the Donkey,” as he puts it, at all. Will it be:

1) When John McCain’s campaign coffers reach a certain figure?

2) When John McCain takes his second trip to IA or his third trip to NH?

3) When John McCain declares his candidacy for presidency?

4) When John McCain declares that he definitely will not be a candidate for presidency?

So Marshall got punked with the bankruptcy bill by Lieberman. Why doesn’t that surprise me. How many times can some people get hit in the face and still say thank you?

I heard Howard Dean is pissed off at Schumer and that we may be seeing an apology from him.
For now I just think Schumer is probably the most arrogant careless son of a b* on this side of the left-leaning planet. (Even though I consider Schumer more of a centrist.)

The DLC is a Trojan Horse, wheeled within the historically patriotic and liberal walls of the Democratic Party, and intent upon overturning FDR’s New Deal, Johnson’s Great Society and all other liberal Democratic Party programs of the past seventy years that have helped hundreds of millions of our nation’s citizens partake of our nation’s bounty, increasing the fortunes of our nation’s children, especially those not fortunate enough to be born into wealthy families like the Gates, Walton, Forbes, Dell, Bush, Cheney, Scaife, etal, families, and made America a beacon of hope for billions around the world suffering under totalitarian, repressive, ruled-by-the-few regimes of one sort or another.

Until, of course, Bush, the Supreme Court and the Republicans stole the presidency…and the DLC started sabotaging the Democratic Party and it’s ideals from within.

When I first heard about the shenanigans of the DLC, my first thought was that the DLC was a Republican plant, that they were part of the Republican plan hatched decades ago to dominate American politics by undermining the Democratic Party.

In other words, we already have proof that one Republican tactic is to deny Democratic Party voters the right to vote, so why wouldn’t the Republicans also at least try to influence the selection of Democratic Party candidates?

In my view, this is why the DLC looks more Republican than Democratic and why I say the DLC is a Trojan Horse stuffed to overflowing with people intent on doing the Democratic Party as much harm as possible.

It is time to burn this Trojan Horse to the ground.

lotus sez at least 90 to 95% of the time, we fdlers are standing right on the center-line of the constitution of the united states, hollering for the current government to make its way back to where it belongs, right here with us.

ed beckman sez i think it would be interesting if we called ourselves “the people” instead of bloggers it would better represent who we really are!

exactly! we are the real people, as opposed to the milionaire politicos, the millionaire pundits, the millionaire journalists, the billionaire industrialists…we are the real people and we are smack dab in the center!

as to lamont and the dem establishment:

skippy writes to the dscc, demanding that until schumer retracts his intention to suppport lieberman as an independent, would they please stop clogging up his inbox with press releases?

“dear chuck, go chuck yourself”

we doubt if it works.

I got carried away a couple weeks ago when Lamont pulled his upset at the convention. I donated a C note or two (that would be about 80% of my lifetime political contributions).
Mysteriously I’m getting all sorts of emails from Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi asking for money.
I thanked Howard for his efforts but told him until the Liebermans and Henry Cuellars (in my neck of the woods) are purged, I’m donating my money only to individual candidates I believe in.
I told Nancy if she can’t lead because she is ethically challenged herself (Worldcom IPO, anybody?), she should step aside for someone who could.
If Lamont got some money for my email address, I hope it was a good price. And I hope they don’t ask for their money back when they get my responses.

Even the Human Rights Campaign is emailing me (I guess I must have fired off a pissy email to them first, my memory is vague, but I think Pach slipped me a roofie and made me do it). They actually DEFENDED Lieberman!!!

Here’s the funniest part:
“Did Lieberman make anti-gay statements?

Some blogs have incorrectly reported that Senator Lieberman made negative comments about the morality of homosexuality. Lieberman did not make such statements, and they were not reported in any newspaper.”

Because it wasn’t in the paper, he didn’t say it? I’m not saying he made any antigay statements, but it’s still a funny remark.

They also point out:
“[Lieberman] voted against the codification of the discriminatory “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy of the U.S. military that bans open service of gay persons”

Sure, he voted not to CODIFY it into law, but wasn’t he one of the original authors fo DADT, along with bollwevil Democrat Sam Nunn? I hate to split hairs (it’s my inner stylist), but this is ridiculous.
