Re: 140

I still really like the idea of hand-delivering a copy of the Contitution to EVERY member of Congress.

This will draw attention to the violence the Executive Branch of the government has already done to the Constitution. We frame it as a non-partisan issue.

The Constitution all rolled up and tied with a red ribbon constitutes a lovely gift. What will it take to do this? It’s less expensive than purchasing copies of CtG since the Constitution can simply be copied.

Re: 122

You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free is John 8:32.

Alice, you have a valid point. Our senators and representatives have a great deal to read, and some of them admit that they don’t even read the full texts of the bills and resolutions on which they vote. That’s a priority. But if enough of us keep reminding our senators and representatives that they have this book and that we want them to read it, someone will open the book up and, I think, find it significant reading.

I’ll be at work tomorrow, so I won’t be able to participate in the forum.

Just pass this along.

I just finished Glenn’s book and it is a “must read” for every American, right, left, and in-between.

May I grab this opportunity to plug Mrs. Lupin’s new book, OVER HERE: AN AMERICAN EXPAT IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE, which is available on Amazon. It can also be ordered direct from the publisher, Black Coat Press. Briefly, the book tells of our decision to leave Los Angeles after the “reelection” of you-know-who and diaries our relocation to the South of France during the ensuing 12 months. It’s illustrated with 100 b&w photos. It’s a cross between A YEAR IN PROVENCE and DAILY KOS.

“How about putting a copy of the goddamned CONSTITUTION in the hands of every senator and representative?

Yes.

What would it take to do that?

GROTON, Connecticut (AP) — A Learjet registered to religious broadcaster Pat Robertson crashed in Long Island Sound while flying in heavy fog Friday, killing both pilots, authorities said. All three passengers escaped without serious injury.

Robertson was not aboard.

I have never attended a church where a pastor owned a learjet. Have you? Was God giving Robertson a message? We’ll have to wait and see what Pat has to say- after his divine conference.

I can’t believe that millions of peopple a day watch this grotesque bag of shit and pay attention to what he has to say.

God must love the gullible- he makes so many of them.

WASHINGTON - House Appropriations Committee Chairman Jerry Lewis said Friday he has not been contacted by federal investigators in their probe of his relationship with a lobbyist and benefactor whose firm’s clients include Lewis’ hometown and home county.

Lewis, R-Calif., said any review of projects he’s won for the city of Redlands and San Bernardino County, both in his district, will show “they all meet the highest standards of public benefit.”

Officials in both Redlands and the county have confirmed receiving federal subpoenas for records regarding any correspondence among Lewis, his staff and the lobbying firm %u2014 Copeland, Lowery, Jacquez, Denton, & White. The firm employs former Rep. Bill Lowery, R-Calif.

(Huffington)

I really hope this bad boy goes down- and AFTER tuesday’s primary- so he’s locked in as the gooper candidate.
