I told him that I was an engineer and a liberal and that, while Cong.
Davis held some positions with which I disagreed I was always inclined
to vote for progressive candidates and that, absent such credentials I
was always prone to vote Democratic. I urged the gentleman to speak to
Cong. Davis about the book and pass along that I hoped he would read
it.

I ended by saying that it was my belief that this great country moved
forward when Progressives such as Teddy Roosevelt and others had vision
for the country and care for the people versus the established
interests.

I also watched the Progressive TV video and was thrilled that they were
on camera mentioning Cong. Davis and commenting about their visit.

I think we are moving forward well in good battle order in spite of the odd logistic bottleneck.
We have been on the offensive now for over a year and wining every major battle. We are way past the ‘ end of the beginning’.
So as sucess breeds sucess and offence remains the best defence we simply keep on keeping on.
We advance in diversity as much as possible and strike in unison as much as possible.
I see the hooking up of distributed translucent databases as a plus for us. A citizens intelligence agency if you will in the form of Wiki’s and Indymedia. Searching with a trad hunter gatherer eye for tracking detail we can map the terrain far better than the hierachic bureacratic enemy and we can swarm faster.
Recon intell will play an increasing role and people can build up good reputation capital this way.

We are faced with a classical choice: monopoly or competition? As the monopolies in other markets were found to be intolerable, soon the monopoly on the defense industry, the State, will be found to be intolerable. There is an alternative to the State system; an order without law, a truly free society, and that society is anarchy.

I really think that everyone should read Saul Alinsky, an old time union organizer. He was very creative. He relates a time they were trying to union the janitors at Kodak, who were primarily black and were getting nowhere. In Rochester where Kodak was located the upper management wives were very involved with the opera and the opera season. Alinsky put out the word that they were going to buy a block of tickets for opening night and before they went they were going to have a big bean dinner and have the worlds first fart in. They didn’t have to do that as the wives made sure their husbands went to the bargaining table.

Delivering those books was thinking outside the box and I just know Saul must be chuckling wherever he is.

My concern is that there are so few reporters actually doing their job on this story that it kills me to see one get slowed down or (heaven forfend) stopped.

I am less interested in how we punish leapold, because frankly ever mentioning his name again will only help his click through rate, than how we protect a good guy.

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I have been somewhat involved in candidate recruitment and endorsement processes here in the Empire State and quality individuals won’t run b/c they fear swiftboating.

The guy who is going to run against Peter King uses as a selling point that he has been previously swifbaoted in the race for the office he now holds so his family is as he puts it “battle hardened” and “shock proofed”.

We also know that the Rovians are planning to slime PJF if he indicts turdblossom.

So, how do we combat the swiftboating? How do we create a rapid repsonse team? How do we pre-inocculate?

How do we neutralize swiftboating as a technique?

You know in the Harry Potter books when the Hogwarts students are learning to countercurse the bogarts in the closet? They are told to imagine the scary monster as something funny and and the magic word they say is “ridiculous”. And the scary thing turns into the funny thing.

How do we either do that kind of magic or find a way to exact such a high price for swiftboating that the cost/benefit analisys makes it impractical to use?
