Great post.

I think it is better to be very careful due to the nature of all this…an indictment has political ramifications and it is not in Fitzgerald’s interests to tread there
without complete surety. Personally, I am not on tender hooks anymore since it is better to have this hanging out there uncertain then to have Rove cleared. The more this goes on, the more people get revealed. This is a good thing.

Has anyone even considered the possiblitly that Rove threw Cheney under the train in his last gj appearance?

Cheney is now on the hot seat…Rove is in the clear….for now.

At best, Rove is off-the-hook because he was able to testify and connect the dots that lead to Cheney…at worst, he’s bought himself some more time.

It probable.

Really? Just as a matter of “How The Media Works”, is there some reason to think he didn’t call four, or six, or ten, until he got two that gave him an answer he liked?

Speak for yourself. It’s not OUR attention span that is at issue, but maybe it is yours.

Me, I can wait forever if that’s how long it takes to build an airtight case.

I actually used to do public corruption cases. The whole freakin’ world comes down on your head once you announce that indictment.

You case will never get any better than it was on that day. So you want a winnable case, cubed.

I get really PO’d when people who have NEVER walked the walk presume to tell PJF he is not doing his job fast enough to keep them entertained.

This isn’t “reality TV” this reality. Real honest to gosh, reality.

I have watched collegues get slimed, framed, had their careers destroyed for daring to do their jobs. NY is a smaller world than you think, so PJF has had the same object lessons as me.

He is playin’ in the majors. The stakes don’t get any higher than this. I hope he takes all the time he needs and resists any temptation to feed the crowd’s hunger for action.

Love you stuff but this:

Are you out of your mind? When is the last time you tried a child molesting case? As soon as the charge is filed, your client is in big big trouble. No one will lie to get on a jury like a prior victim of child abuse. and no group has a harder time at trial. I would rather try a murder case than a “he said, she said” or worse a “he said, he said” molestation trial.

With the news that Fitz says that he may call Cheney, he could put Cheney under oath and either get him to tell the truth about outing Valerie Plame, perjure himself or take the Fifth. If he takes the Fifth, he would probably end up resigning but would not be in legal troubles. If he admits to breaking the law with regard to outing Valerie Plame, he could get indicted, but he would probably have to resign. If he lies, Fitz could try to indict him. Wouldn’t that be something? Indicting a sitting VP?

Does it strike anyone how off balance that Fitz not indicting Libby on the outing charges has thrown Libby’s defense team. They are still fighting charges that have never been filed. I thought Fitz was being a pussy at the time, but now realize what a brilliant strategy move it was. It had to have messed with Luskin’s head and burned a ton of the Scooter’s cash preparing for a fight that didn’t happen. It almost looks like the whole perjury rap blindsided them bad. And Fitz just keeps leveling them with briefs pointing out that Libby is fighting an outing charge that was never filed. Devastating……
