GSD @ 91

Yup. I’ve been saying all along that there is more to be uncovered in the matter of David Kelley and the WMD. WHY was his last message to Judy Miller???

If I was being hounded to death by the media, a reporter is the last person I’d be writing chummy notes to. Was he the first to tell her Plame’s secret identity? Was it Flame, and was his name in Miller’s notebooks as a source? Who was his third secret admirer?

There are too many connections for any part of this mess to be accidental.

Entitlement….fits well here. Ol’ Joe feels that his record entitles him to a Senate seat over anyone else. This is why this guy and all the others have to go….they believe their twisted logic of deserving to lead…and we should blindly support them…No wonder the policies are so corrupt in DC…

Angie, Shoephone, and Seepeesate…

“That <strike>Katherine Harris</strike> Louise Wong’s got a balcony you could do SHAKESPEARE from!”

Okay, it’s late, they won’t deliver a pizza to me up here in the hills, and I just heard there’s hamburger all over the highway in Mystic, Connecticut…

…I think it’s high time I went and sat up in a tree, cut the soles off my shoes, and learned to play the flute. Night, all!

This is so huge. What a shot across the bow! Wake up, Holy Joe. It’s May 20th. Do you know where you are? Hillary Clinton just sat up and clutched her pearls in her sleep. She felt a strange disturbance in the force. As if thousands of constitutents cried at out once. And were not silenced.

Redshift #101: “It’s hard to make predictions - especially about the future.” … about what just happened, not so much.

A commenter on Digby’s post tonight said that Lieberman went completely haywire after the Democrats “rejected” him for the 2004 presidential race, when he was the rightful and natural heir (Oh, sure he was…) to the presidential nomination.

Centrist Know Nothings

Anyone heard that before? Hard to believe, as if the nomination were like waiting for your crush to ask you to the prom. But could be true. If so, what a waste and what a disaster.

Completely OT, but here’s a copy of the letter I just received from my Dem. Senator, Jeff Bingaman (NM), in reponse to my request that he consider impeachment of Bush because of the illegal NSA spying on U.S. Citizens.

Clearly, no one is home at his office. The letter’s hardly worth a read, except as another example of the pathetic state of Congressional Dems at this moment. Pure campaign pablum. I let Bingaman know I’d be publishing his brilliant words on firedoglake. Hopefully the NSA scan will provide a record for his files if he ever decides to read what is written in his name. I know that meaningless generalizations are SOP for most letters to constituents, but somehow tonight, I feel especially insulted by it’s vague nothingness.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Administration’s policies. I appreciate your taking the time to write.

Although I do not believe it would be in the best interest of our country to initiate measures to impeach President Bush, I have a number of concerns about aspects of the Administration’s domestic and foreign policy agendas. I believe the President’s policies should be a reflection of our priorities as a nation and that all too often these priorities seem inconsistent with our nation’s values. I believe it will be a mistake if the majority party continues to pursue a purely ideological agenda that is out of touch with the needs and concerns of the majority of Americans. Congress remains closely divided, and the reality is that both parties will have to find common ground and seek bipartisan solutions in order to address our country’s pressing problems. Let me assure you that I will continue to work to ensure that the values and policies that have made this country great are not undermined or reversed by an extremist agenda. These values center around improving the quality of life for all Americans and upholding the rights embodied in our Constitution.

As always, the public plays an important role in our democracy by voicing concern and keeping the government in check, and I encourage you to stay engaged. Again, thank you for writing. Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding any other matter of importance to you and your community.

Sincerely,

JEFF BINGAMAN
United States Senator
