I truly feel pity for the people of Connecticut who have had to put up with this traitorous fuckhead, Lieberman. He’s their Zell Miller - he knows that if he switches to the Republican Party, his goose will be cooked for sure, so he plays the part of a “good Democrat” the Republicans can manipulate.

He cares nothing about the Democratic Party, yet the mainstream leadership continues to be blindly supporting him in the face of overwhelming digust of the rank and file Democrats. And, if he turns independent and stabs Reid, Clinton and Schumer in the back, he could split the vote in Connecticut and hand the election to the Republicans. He’s angling for a cabinet position, maybe even Rumsfeld’s job, and perhaps this is his real motivation. What a piece of shit.

Great diary! Joe’s gotta go. One change I would make to this statement “and last but not least, the women of America…and the men who support them…who have felt victimized…” Felt? We haven’t “felt” victimized. We HAVE BEEN victimized! Call it what it is an own it girlfriend. That’s where the empowerment is.

I am going to donate to Lamont next month. This month I am tapped out donating to Arizona candidates. Every little victory across the country gives me hope.

Oh, I guess Schumer technically “refuses to commit.” He does do some dancing around, but it’s not even fancy dancin’. I think he spells it all out pretty clearly: “Our general rule, and I don’t think there’s been an exception, is that we support the Democrat against the Republicans. We expect Lieberman will win, but if he doesn’t and Ned wins, my guess is we will support him. We haven’t taken a position on that but we’ve almost never deviated. I do not know of a time that the Democrats have deviated and not supported the Democrat.”

That tells me all I need to know. It’s politicianese for of course we’ll support Ned, but in the meantime we’re still dealing with an incumbent who’s a real tool. Schumer says they will support the Dem over a Repub AND an indie should anyone try THAT route: “I do not know of a time that the Democrats have deviated and not supported the Democrat.” C’mon, you’re busting balls, Jane.

keep in mind Americans failed the clear-as-bell test of the 04 election. Never will an election be more obvious that an incumbant should not be returned to office than in 2004. All the lies, deceit, and failures associated with the Iraq invasion, as well as the politics-first and foremost ways of the bushliar-criminal regime were well known at the time of the election and Americans proved they didn’t care; that they’d rather be frightened, cowed sheople than do the hard work of being informed and knowing the truth that is required for a democracy to succeed and survive.

2006 looks to be a last chance event for Americans to stave off the death of the USA as a force for good in the world. Inherent in a democrat victory in 2006 is restoring the rule of law and trying the bushliar-criminal regime for their crimes against humanity and the US constitution.

Americans have a clear choice in 2006: return the US to its hard won place as a leader among the world community by throwing out republican rule, or enshrine the US’ bush-generated place as a pariah among nations and today’s most dangerous threat to humanity. Americans failed a similarly clear choice in 2004; lets hope 2006 is not a repeat performance.
