He was a sweaty, chain-smoking shyster who usually had to defend some miscreant against Harry Shearer’s brilliant impression of Mike Wallace (back when Wallace had a pair and would actually rip people like that up.) Mr. Thurm’s “arguments” were masterpieces of sophistry and circular logic.</p> <p>Also, Jennifer Garner is not only a West Virginian, she’s very proud of it and she’s also a good Democrat (as is her husband, Mr. Affleck) all of which makes my West Va. native mother like her as much as I do.</p> A couple of not especially important tidbits:
