I specifically watched ABC tonite. No mention from the local talking heads. No surprise there. But wait, surely it would be on Nightline. It wasn’t. Bizarre.

^^^ HELP IMPEACH TODAY

Keep the pressure on Congress… Talking about impeachment wakes people up… They question, it’s a strong motivator to get people thinking. It also lets Congress know how intense the dissapproval is for this President… They seem to be a little slow on the uptake. So please:

1) Sign petitions if you have not done so
2) Send a letter to Congress (both Senators & House rep)
3) Send a copy to the media
4) Enlist friends and family to help, ask them to chip in time
5) Spread the link around, email it (with a request to forward) post it on a blog, or in the comments of a news story.

Help out!!!

Thanks :)

If 30 million citizens undertook that during the course of a nominated 12 hour interval, they peppered their phone conversations with patriotic patter along the lines of: ” OSAMA BIN LADIN is still the AL-KY-EDA JIHAD TERRORIST leader, it’s time he was stopped”

The Homespy computers would shit themselves and the tyrannical domestic spymasters might get the message.

This country was never Constituted for the people’s government to spy on 10s of millions of innocent Americans.

Impeachment is too good for these swine.

Would MSM be more aggressive? Is that a rhetorical question? Do they have journalists who are not ‘on television’ to quote Murray Waas in his interview with Liz Halloran in US News? If this NSA dragnet reached 200m people, thats two thirds of the country’s population. Thats the two thirds who get in the way. They ask too many questions and need to be marginalised. Pauperisation is one way - thats in hand through globalisation and indebtedness. Disenfrancisement is also in hand and network neutrality is the new frontier.

Something still bugs me - what would Fitzgerald be bargaining for with Rove? Immunity for implicating the WH? What does that fix?

What has been the reaction in wingnuttia and FreeperBlogVille? Should be fascinating to read how they justify this and dozens more revelations yet to come from this most corrupt of administrations. Aided and abetted of course by the Republimocrats.

Well, now…wait a minute. If they have all those phone records for several years, then the justice department should be able to use them in the prosecution of all those repug congresscritters and aides and cronies.

With the confirmation hearings for his CIA director nomination set to begin on Thursday, General Michael Hayden will no doubt be grilled on the broadening scope and dubious legality of the domestic surveillance programs during his tenure at the NSA. As we learned last week, Hayden’s NSA not only conducted warrantless electronic eavesdropping on Americans, but clandestinely built a massive database of their phone records as well. And just today, Brian Ross of ABC News revealed that he had been tipped off that the Bush administration is tracking journalists’ phone histories as part of its expanding campaign to crack down on whistle-blowers.

But if there is a single question that should be put to Hayden during his Senate confirmation hearings next week, it is this:

Do you believe FISA is unconstitutional?

For the background, see:

I have given up on the idea or hope that the corporate media would report anything aggressively….especially if such reporting would make the Bushies look bad.

So alas, no, I’m not holding my breath that the Kewl Kidz will suddenly think that trashing the constitution affects them. Okay, well, in their opinion it may affects some of those Crazy Bad Reporters, like Seymour Hersh or Murray Waaz. But for the Elizabeth Bumillers Sue Schmitts, Adam Nagourneys, Jodie “Shamu” Wilogrens, Richard Morins, Little Debbie Howells, Joe Kleins and all the rest of them—–what’s the big deal?

I mean, they already write down the Bush talking points. Why would they care if their phone is bugged? They’re already fully cooperating and on-board. Why bug ‘em and who would care if they did?

So I imagine that for much of the corporate media, they don’t care if their phones are bugged. I think it’s gotten that bad.
