I recall Me3 stating why Tamiflu wasn’t very effective against H5N1 and that there was something else readily available that would help more but isn’t being widely talked up. It’s buried in comments from last winter. So, Me3, if you catch this, care to use your expertise to remind us? muchas gracias.

Mr. Libby can rebut this theory [that Administration officials engaged in a vigorous effort to discredit Wilson by outing his wife] by showing that his conversations with reporters about Mr. Wilson and his trip were necessitated by, and focused upon, the false information being spread by Mr. Wilson, and were not focused upon Mr. Wilson’s wife.”

I call Bull Shit here too. They KNEW then that Wilson was NOT spreading around false information!
They were mad at him for exposing their LIEs!

I cannot believe they are STILL trying to assert that the whole Niger thing was for real!!

JTH (111) — Hadn’t caught that particular piece, but I’m looking for anything that shows Miller was regularly hanging with PNAC members at Aspen events. I know Rove was there in 2002…but I need more concrete stuff. We’re definitely on the same page, thanks for the link.

For zennurse and whoever else is interested, Steve Clemons at thewashingtonnote.com seems to have excellent sources on the Iran situation. He says that the generals are the canaries in the coal mine. If they start resigning, then the decision (not nuclear) has been made.
peace,

From ABC news (May 3)”The Note”: The grand jury investigating the CIA leak may meet this morning at the federal courthouse in Washington, DC.”
Can anyone confirm?

I should have referenced comment (#92) in my last. That’s another reason I use the time hack - it’s easier to grab and you can use it to double-check.

Waiting to get my word in edgewise, once again ;>)

Duktig Pojke #6,#17 regarding “out” vs. “betray”:
Thank you! I have been bothered by the lack of seriousness with which the media and even bloggers have taken this serious crime of treason. When I first learned of the betrayal of Valerie Plame Wilson, I was shocked. And, amazed that others didn’t respond that way. How numb we have become to the idea of genuine patriotism, which requires obeying the Constitution and the laws of this country.

Christy #41, as always, you are right on. I noticed the headlines about the bird flu when I went to the post office, today, and then read about some vials of anthrax missing from a lab, later found, in the AP sidebar at the Times web site. Don’t you think the public is just getting bored and somewhat cynical about this kind of manipulation? I don’t have any friends who are alarmed at bird flu, here in Florida, nor do I know of anyone who lies awake at night worrying about anthrax. However, everyone I know is horrified that Bush might take us to war with Iran, and use nuclear weapons to do so. This cannot happen!

Mary @ 11:02 am (#102) - I’m amazed that the press and commenters seem unaware of how black budgets work. It’s not a secret these days - it’s been known at least since Bamford’s book on the NSA, if not earlier.
