I really hope Lieberman loses.

And that the national Dems don’t parachute in to try and save him like they did for Newsom in San Francisco (I’ll give Gore some slack if he does since he did make the stupid mistake of picking Joe for his VP and has to be loyal).

The website is “Connecticut Choice Voice,” not “Vote” – though clearly they want all you CTers to vote.

The “voice for choice” is what needs to be heard, and not just in CT. I hope the leaders in NARAL and PP catch up with their followers sometime before election day.

“Voice for Choice” could also be a great wedge to reach the more moderate republicans. These are the folks who want choice in so many matters, where the conservatives are trying to take them away in a “just trust us” move.

Go Ned, and Go Jane!!

Everything depends on what kind of shenanigans Joe’s smooch buddy der Chimpenfuhrer pulls between now and November. We think Bushco has driven this country off a cliff, right? Compared to what’s ahead, heck they haven’t even started. Hopefully Iran and $10/gal. gas and the new great depression might just wake up this country and consign every one of these well-fed jackals of our corporo-political class to permanent oblivion, please god please. In any case, the drunken chimp is around Joe’s neck like – well, a drunken chimp.

New Cook Report just out..

Bottom line. Dems have a decent chance of winning the senate (it all comes down to Tennessee) and a better chance of winning the house- but it will come down to money where the goopers expect to have a huge advantage that they think will overcome a strong anti Clusterfuck and anti gooper sentiment.

Very interesting reading.

So, what could save Republicans? In the Senate, if the tidal wave is gigantic and every seemingly vulnerable incumbent Republican is swept out — Rick Santorum in Pennsylvania, Lincoln Chafee in Rhode Island, Conrad Burns in Montana, Mike DeWine in Ohio, and Jim Talent in Missouri — and if Democrats hold all of their seats, the GOP would still have a one-seat edge.

To take over, Democrats must win the open seat in Tennessee, where the winner of the August 3 Republican primary will face Democratic Rep. Harold Ford. If Republicans hold Tennessee, they hold the Senate. If they have a truly horrible night and lose Tennessee, they lose the Senate.

Cook Political Report

But should the GOP’s chances of picking up the open seat in Minnesota be dismissed so casually? Yes, even though Republicans have an excellent candidate in Rep. Mark Kennedy. And the same is true for the party’s chances in Washington state, where the GOP is fielding a formidable challenger to Sen. Maria Cantwell. The fact is, if the political environment is so anti-Republican that five incumbents lose, then the GOP won’t be able to gain ground in any Senate race. So, under the Republican apocalypse scenario, the Senate comes down to Tennessee.

In the House, where the GOP is more vulnerable, Democrats don’t quite have to run the table, but they must gain 15 seats to take control. In the 35 House races that The Cook Political Report rates as competitive, Democrats need to hold all 11 of their own seats while winning 63 percent (15 out of 24) of the GOP seats. That doesn’t sound nearly as daunting as the task facing Senate Democrats, who must win all 13 competitive races.

House Democrats have the momentum; Republicans will have the cash. Although the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has narrowed the cash-on-hand gap to $1 million — down from $4 million at the end of 2005, Republicans are virtually certain to end up outspending their Democratic counterparts. The National Republican Congressional Committee is also likely to get a $20 million to $25 million transfusion from the Republican National Committee. The DCCC cannot expect similar aid from its less wealthy national committee.

Hadassah is living the good life. She will not sacrifice personal comfort for principle. Joementum has made a mess for himself with his voting record and positions on issues. I can’t believe he’s got 46 percent. He’s got the (special interest)money. Connecticut has a substantial gay population. Hopefully, they are not log cabin repubs like Mehlman, Rove and Gannyguck. They must mobilize and get out the vote for Lamont.

Leopold on the radio:

I just heard a full 30 minutes of Jason Leopold being casually interviewed and taking questions on a liberal talk show.

With the usual caveat that the experts generally assess Leopold’s credibility as being somewhat less than Waas and more than the traditional media, I found it much more interesting to hear him speak that to parse through his carefully phrased articles.

The bottom line is that he sounded VERY confident of the following:

1) GJ meets tomorrow at 9:30 EST
2) Rove received a target letter a month ago
3) Fitz had charges drawn up a month ago for false statements and perjury, but not obstruction
4) The “no target letter” spin was carefully phrased by Luskin to mean “only in relation to Rove’s most recent appearance”
5) The “nothing for at least 10 days” story was spin control to keep the story out of the news cycle.
6) A Friday press conference is predicted to be announced Thursday
7) The investigation will continue to remain open.
8) Rove will be indicted for false statements and perjury, and conceivably, but not probably, obstruction of justice.

Make what you will of it. We’ll know soon enough.

Now, if only we could ward off the impending doom of a Casey nomination in PA to go up against Santorum.

You think Lieberman is bad? Wait til you get a load of Casey — anti-choice, pro-war, pro-Alito, pro-Roberts, anti-stem cell research, the list goes on and on.

If you’re in PA, PLEASE don’t vote for Casey in May in the primaries, and please send the DSCC a message that you won’t support him in November.

Send the democratic party a message- we want REAL democrats in PA! Why bother to replace Santorum with Santorum-lite?

We’ll go to all the trouble of dumping Lieberman and we’ll get Casey in his place.

The only problem with Lamont’s campaign right now is that they’re not getting the widespread word out yet. 90% of the state hasn’t even HEARD of Ned Lamont yet. Those that have, generally support him.

We’ve got three months ’til the August 8th primary. They’re going to step up the media blitz soon (I hope)!

Great to see you keeping the pressure up on NARAL to stop condoning allegedly pro-choice turncoat Dems like Lieberman (and the 18 others Dems who inexplicably joined him in scuttling the filibuster of No-Choice activist scAlito).

I certainly don’t agree w him on everything but I like his philosphy that the government stops at my front door (who you love, guns, etc). mui,

“What Lieberman receives from Pfizer? Who works for Pfizer? How much legislation benefits Pfizer?”

Hard to say but I found this…

“The Gore campaign countered that Lieberman should not be defined by the sources of his campaign money. “Unlike Bush, he supports a prescription-drug benefit under Medicare opposed by the pharmaceutical industry, and as part of the ticket he will fight for one,” said Gore spokesman Doug Hattaway. “The issue is whose side you’re on and what you’re fighting for.”

http://www.commondreams.org/he…..900-02.htm

Historically, “Big Pharma” has pretty much been an equal opportunity donater (Dems, Repugs).

Disclaimer: I friend of mine works for Pfizer as a consultant and I’m somewhat connected to the industry myself business wise ; )

WHAT HAPPENED ON THE OPERAH WINFREY SHOW THAT CHANGED THE LIVES AND CAUSED MASSIVE WEALTH AMONGST COMMON INTERNET USERS READ THIS NOW AND BE A PART OF THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD MAKING A FORTUNE AND LIVING THE LIFE OF LUXURY FOR A MERE $6.00 INVESTMENT(no selling) HOW TO MAKE THOUSANDS DOING NOTHING AT ALL Keep in mind that everything stated below is 100% legal as stated by the U.S. Post Office (1-800-725-2161). A little while back, I was browsing through newsgroups, and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00! : So I thought,’ Yeah, right, this must be a scam’, but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anway it said that you have to send $1.00 to each of the following names on the list, stated at the end of this article using Paypal (our new form of transferring money safely and securely). You dont have to be preferred or verified to transfer and recieve money, so you lose no money through transfers. Now honestly, what is six dollars, especially out of a Paypal account. In exchange you will make thousands in the first few months. You then place your own name and email address (registered for Paypal transfers) in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200 newsgroups. (There are thousands of newsgroups) No catch, that was it. So after thinking it over, and talking to a few people first, I thought about trying it. I sent out my measly 6.00 to the six people on the list. Well GUESS WHAT!!… Within 7 days, I started: getting $$$$$ in my account! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the CASH just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $10.00. By the end of the second week I had made a total of over $500.00! In the third week I had over $1000.00 and it’s still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $5,000.00 and it’s still coming in rapidly. It’s certainly worth $6.00 and 6 minutes to send it out. This program WORKS, all you have to do is try it, and waste some pocket change. You could find six dollars laying around the house. There is absolutely nothing you could lose. Just follow the 4 basic steps below to make thousands in just a few days, weeks, or months, it all depends on how many posts of this letter you put in message boards. Heres how it works: When you post 200 messages all over the internet, it is estimated that at least 15 people will respond and send you a $1.00. ($15.00) Those 15 will Post 200 Posts each and 225 people send you $1.00 ($225.00) Those 225 people Post 200 Posts each and 3,375 people send you $1.00 ($3,375.00) Those 3,375 post 200 posts each and 759,375 people send you $1.00 ($759,375.00) At this point your name drops off the list, but so far you have received $813,615.00. Note: I’m not saying this is going to make everyone 800 grand, but lets say even 1 person out of 200 tries this program, you are still going to make 50,000 dollars in anywhere from 1 month to 6 months max!!!!! ..You dont have to post in 200 message boards but the more you post in the Greater your income will be SO SAVE THIS MESSAGE NOW IF YOUR INTERESTED IN CHANGING YOUR LIFE!!! And go to the instructions below to get started immediately. You must send out 6 dollars to the people at the end of the letter before swapping your name in, or else those 6 people will not add you to there list, therefore you will not make any money. INSTRUCTIONS: Sign up for a FREE PAYPAL ACCOUNT @ http://www.paypal.com >. Immediately send $1.00 to each of the six people on the list using Paypal, and in the comment section type “Please add me to your list”. >. Now Copy this letter. All you have to do is save this whole article along with instructions, etc in a word file/note pad on your computer,or Highlight All the text on this page..and copy paste it to Notepad >. After sending the money to the first 6 people on the list, you can remove the name next to the #1 on the list and move the rest of the names up one position (#2 becomes #1, #3 becomes #2, ect… Then place your name in the #6 position. Then save it. >. When you have completed the instructions, take this letter and then go to (Google, Yahoo,…) and type in (Making Money Message board, Money Message Board, Money Forum, Free money Forum, or anything along those lines that are forums) and start posting your copy of this message at least 200 times, to as many unique message boards as you can, or more. The more times you post this at a unique board, the more money you will make. The more copies you send the better the results. Keep a copy of this letter so you can use it a second time. Post it out again in six months, but Post it with the addresses you receive with each dollar. It will work better the second time. NOTE: This service is 100% legal – (Refer to title 18 section 1302 of the U.S. Postal & lottery laws) P.S. There is no possible way to cheat this program. If you do not follow the instructions exactly, you will not make any money, GUARANTEED. Paypal accounts to send 1 dollar to : >> StvHgg@aol.com >> roy81471@charter.net >> petermclure@hotmail.com >> ecf_real@hotmail.com >> mrsair28@yahoo.com >>Markit95@yahoo.com REMEMBER AGAIN- After you’ve mailed 1 dollar to each of these people, then you can add your paypal name to the 6th position, and move the rest up one spot. Amazingly Enuff this was featured OPERAH WINFREY…20/20 and also Headlined in the Wall Street Journal So What are you waiting for..Small Investment for Big Returns..Yours for the Taking…. Dont Pass this one up then ponder WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN Have fun
