Are you sure No. 5 (Court the Press) isn’t referring to BushCo getting some of their hand-picked federal judges to crackdown on freedom of the press?

And No. 1 (Deploy Guns and Badges), is this what BushCo needs to do to help fill up those “detention centers” Halliburton is building for BushCo for $385 million?

Sounds like the makings of a fascist police state to me.

Have we passed the “tipping point” yet??

God, I hope not. Especially for the sake of our nation’s children.

Sometimes I wonder about “former” drug use. Many of Bush’s actions are so friggn’ crazy and out of touch with reality just like a using addict.

Six months? Taylor, bro…..you’re dreaming. They will nuke Iran as a way of “getting votes” and when that bullshit doesn’t fly, they’ll hit us with martial law (is there anyone out there so innocent at this stage of the game that they think it won’t happen?). I’ll also mention a single word to you: Diebold. They won’t lose, no matter how low their numbers get, it’ll just be a “miraculous turnaround” for their whores on the news to bleat about.

Please. Wake up. We’re on the cusp of armed struggle, knucklehead!

mommybrain, 153 - first, I’m spending way to much time here today!

Second, as I read the posts to catch up, I think that over and over I get the sense that the whole concept of “corruption” is so important right now. So many of us are fed up with BOTH parties — the R’s for perpetrating the mess (Iraq, debt, torture, lies, Enron) — but the D’s for not standing up to it.

I think it was ?Buckley (?) who commented on this or another thread about ‘corruption’ being such an underlying issue.

I never thought that I’d live to admit that Richard Nixon: (1) didn’t ‘out’ a CIA officer, (2) didn’t lie the US into war, (3) didn’t set up dark ops prisons, (4) didn’t steal an election via voting machines, (5) didn’t enable Enron, etc. Nixon’s crimes were “only” NSA-related stuff.

Now, if I can connect those dots on my own as a citizen, what I’d like to know is where in HELL are the damn Dems, and why haven’t they honed a message to help American citizens understand why this Bu$h/Cheney/Rummy mess is far, far worse than Watergate?

Dems? What Dems?

Sheesh!

Yes! we are all Firepups. I agree with all, the mid-terms perhaps are the only opportunity to take it back. The best chance to curb the damage.

Aside from a certain contretemps with Leonidas & Co, (yea, Spartans!)I always have had a soft spot for the Iranians (Aryans, Persians, what have you)). As a civilization, we Westerners owe them mightily. Lets not be the bogeymen two millenia hence.

And while our Dear Decider stumbles from debacle to fiasco, alienating most of the sentient universe, Chinese President Hu Jintao is in the midst of a diplomatic world tour. Starting with Washington State (and, as an afterthought, Washington , DC), he is now in Saudi Arabia and will be visiting Morocco, Nigeria and Kenya.

In the last 18 months, China and Venezuela have signed agreements on petroleum, agriculture and technology, and China has invited Iran to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The SCO started in 1996 with China, Russia and a few of the “Stans”, to resolve border disputes, but appears to be broadening into a broader Asian-Middle Eastern cooperative.

Saint Francis say, you can catch more flies with spoonful of honey …

Guys, I have always had one big question mark going, as far as this whole “If we take back Congress, we’ll have subpoena power and then boy are the Bushies screwed!” meme:

Would someone please tell me why Congressional Democrats… traditionally scared of their shadows to buck corporate donors, the defense industry, etc.; traditionally “running to the middle”, per their Democratic consultants; traditionally loath to support aggressive opposition to the Bush administration, even when people like Senator Feingold stand up… are suddenly supposed to develop a pair of cojones, when they reach 51%?

Because, and forgive my pessimism, I just don’t see it.
