TB, forgive me if I turn a little green at Bushco incompetence. Given that T**w** is the big eyesore to the Chinese, I think its better to gloss over the differences not highlight them until those differences can be worked out peacefully, even if it is in the next millenium. Even suggesting the name of unsaid R*p***** and unsaid na****l anthem is too much on the inflammatory side. Its better for all to repress all notions and work on business arrangements and dollar diplomacy. With that said and done, allies will shrink and shirk right and left. So who’s left of our “friends”? Tony Blair? Boy, that’s a comfort. I feel better already. Global alliances are being made against this country in threes or more. Bushco is turning the U.S. into an isalnd.

Totally EPU’d but thought some clarification might be worthwhile for any who comes upon this thread.

The wrong anthem was announced, the right anthem was played.

There’s an even broader point that we too often overlook: being right matters. In other words, we should be all about accountability. Leaking a CIA agent’s identity for political gain is wrong (legal or not). Leaking the secret government program to spy on Americans or operate secret gulags is right (legal or not).

When Republicans say raising taxes will ruin the economy they are wrong. When Deomocrats say investing in education will make us better off, they are right.

Wh should stop being shy about pointing out an unspoken truth: we are right and they are wrong. (Here’s a hint: that’s why Republicans can carry on affairs, gamble, abuse drugs, etc., and we can’t: we’re the good guys).

Remember when Condi leaked the name and fact of an Al Qaeda mole in Pakistan? He could have been useful but no they had to out him so they could look like they were doing something. and am I surprised to hear from Osama again? And will there be strategic leaks over the next couple of weeks about what he supposedly said like always?

Mui, I thought the anthem mistake was hilarious! The leader of a nation of 1.3 billion people, and they wouldn’t give him a State Dinner, just the quickie lunch, and then bushCo fucks it up and plays the Taiwanese tune. Dick Tuck would be proud! :o)

Trust me; Condi is not that subtle.

Besides, the Chinese also have a hand on the handle of the vise which holds junior and bushCo’s, ‘nads.

With all of our T-bills they have, they could wrap bush up like “The Mummy”, and stick him in the Smithsonian, if they wanted to. :o)

Junior was after support for sanctions on Iran; Chinese pressure on North Korea, and reduction of trade imbalance.

The Chinese (nor Russia, for that matter…) don’t want us bombing their new energy partner; they don’t have THAT much influence with North Korea, and with their eye on Taiwan, they aren’t too worried about economic problems that will help put the republicans out on their corporate asses.

Think he got a “committment” after the Venusian Fire Drill with Hu?

    :o)

And BarbB, you nailed it. We are headed for either/or. No halfway. No policy “adjustments”.

And the repubs will be presenting it that way, and so should we.

They will pitch this fall’s elections in just those terms:

“If the dems take both houses of congress (1 ?) it won’t be them holding minority press-conferences; they will gin up the committee hearings into the snake-oil-intelligence factory; into the sweetheart no-bid Halliburton contracts, etc, etc, and your dear president, who is only halfway through making america safe for Lee Raymond-style-golden-handshakes; the flat-earth society; and coat-hanger abortions; will be twisting slowly in the wind. Do you want that?”

    Our side of it:

“The time has come, the Walrus said, to talk of many things….”

of whether we really want to see the country turned into some kind of Krupp-Farben-Bechtel corporate 4th Reich, with vast entitlements for the kind of “educational system” that will teach that a zillion years of fossil record is a communist plot, at the same time our public schools are reduced to begging parents for “volunteerism”.

Of TOTAL corporate control of our media.

Of reams of legislation to protect big-business from having to face any real market competition…

gaaaaaaaaa! I could go on and on, but why…we all know what’s at stake. Either we take back congress, and start trying to save something from junior and the petroturds savage idiocy, or we will have no place to hide.

A good first step would be to get rid of the digital voting. Let’s.

Unfortunately, she’ll never testify. Judge Ellis has already said that he’ll accept a written statement about why she won’t, in lieu of sworn testimony.

    Too bad.

It would have been great to see her (If she ever actually met Rosen and Weissman(?)) being asked:

“What DID you talk about, if it wasn’t about how to inflate the Iranian-nookie-u-lar-mullah-doll?”

So if I understand this correctly, the official Republican campaign slogan will be “Vote for us or the Democrats will investigate and/or impeach Dear Leader,” and the covert slogan will be, “Vote for us, we’re white.” Only the overt slogan is new. The covert slogan is called the Southern strategy.
