I’ve got to be honest: Pat Buchanon seems like he is *this close* to breaking out in a guffaw. A well paid parody of himself.

About Eleanor, a VERY good point: The “men” always gang up and shout over her.
Republicans seem like the Bully Party, a Party of Bullies.

And Americans DETEST a Bully.

Why do Republicans always try to BULLY us Americans?
Why don’t Republicans like to Share the good fortune we have in the Land Of Plenty?

Isn’t This My land, AND Your land??
Why can’t these Bullies Share??

It makes me WANT to believe alien lizards have invaded D.C., and taken over. In fact, look closely at DeLay’s eyes, maybe the Mother Ship called him home….

But unfortunately, no, it is simply criminals in charge, because we Americans became complacent. They just ACT like alien entities that found a Host in the gullible American Heartland (and South).

Radical surgery required.

The osprey has a wide range. In Colorado in Rocky Mountain National Park there are usually 25-30 nesting pairs near the lakes nearby (Grand, Shadow Mountain, Granby) during the spring. You can often see them fishing, rising out of the water with a trout and then changing the fish headfirst for carrying. We also see the mamas flight training the (big) chicks over the river valley near the lakes. I’ve had one pass over me about 15 ft off the ground. Her wings sound exactly like a large dog panting.

I’m on the west coast and a little after 4:00 am (I work swing and sometimes grave), I saw CSPAN’s program Washington Week. They had that Wingnut, Rev Scarboro on. The first democratic caller nailed Delay on the Sex Slave Tourism in Saipan and said that if this was “Christian”, then she didn’t want to be. Of course, Scarboro wrote it off as an attack by the liberal press and went on and on in terms of what “a good christian man, Tom Delay was”. He also bloviated about Delay’s foundation and I tried to call in and challenge the foundation, but couldn’t get through. I was however impressed at how fast this challenge from that woman came up. After a few minutes of a fawning call from a Repug–I couldn’t take it anymore and turned the channel.

I concur with you spider.

Only I would go build the congress up by percentage of professions. Like 9 kindergarten teachers, 6 poets, 10 % dry land farmers, 3 % crab fisherman, 4 cowboys and 4 cowgirls, 1 television comic .. I mean .. I don’t have the actual percentages to list here .. but like that.

I belive the congress is over weighted with attorneys .. therefore the knowledge base according to a common sense ratio to life experience is totally fucked up.

There is no hope for either party. The election syytem needs to be changed. I suggest two alternatives. My favorite is to make congress like jury duty. We would need to extend the terms to perhaps 6 years and 8 years and have some overlap. The selection should be completely random but with restrictions on mentally disturbed or felons. There could be national tests to determine those most suited for eligibility in the jury pool. The details could be worked out but it would be a lot better than what we have.

If we keep elections then they should be altered to include a runoff so that they cant tell us that we are destroying a particular parties chance.

The facts are clear (except to the repub aliens living in an alternative reality):

1) BushCo wanted to invade Iraq from day 1
2) After 9/11 they decided to invade Iraq
3) They manufactured and manipulated the intelligence, ignoring facts that didn’t support their cause
4) They lied to the American public in order to get Congressional approval for their war, thus subverting and destroying the democratic process
5) When people (aka J. Wilson) challenged their lies, they abused their power in order to cover up their lies

If this isn’t an impeachable offense, I don’t know what is.

I must apologize, I get confused at times. It’s difficult to keep track of the preznit and Big Dick’s lying sessions. They were interviewed by Patrick Fitzgerald individually. It was the 9/11 cover-up, oops, I mean commission, where they had to be interviewed together - holding hands I presume.

I think the Sunday talk shows have drowned in their own obsession with hairsplitting instead of honest and intelligent debate. They probably think they’re being extra clever and analytical by splitting hairs, when they are really just covering BushCo’s ass and flopping over into muddy water and completely eliminating the true point of any discussion. They lose their focus by defending mindless Rovian offenses and talking points. Really stupid talk. To listen to Boner and DeLay tout the virtues of their ilk just nauseates me. They really are slime because they are banking on the American public not engaging with any of this, just like the pundits are. And although I made a pledge not to read any WaPo except Froomkin anymore since they pulled that shit on him, after reading the comments here I decided to go and read that editorial. That piece is just astounding and criminal. It’s actually very creepy to think that Woodward or whoever is putting this kind of thing out. We need to do something about this. I smell a campaign.

Leslie at 117,

I agree, shoe salesperson is inspired. I guess that I was thinking of the medieval style costumes she dresses up in often. If anything is medieval, other than the Bush administration vision for the future, it’s a nice jacuzzi in a pot of boiling oil.
