There may be bigger penalties waiting for them than just simple charges for influence peddling.</p> <p>If that’s the case, I’d put money on his family throwing him under the bus, not him doing it himself on their behalf. If prosecutors were waving thirty years under the nose of Momma DeLay and twenty for Baby DeLay for racketeering, they’d even swear that Poppa DeLay was responsible for 9/11. </p> <p>My guess is that this move by DeLay is to protect his own ass, first, and that it’s just the beginning of a very long process destined to get uglier and uglier as time goes by.
