Larry, I don’t respect this about him. I agree with you completely that we need Dems with spine (instead of mealy-mouthed Biden and Holy Joe), but the key to Delay’s (and we hope the Republicans’) success and failure is that he is so single-minded, so sure he is right — and so are his supporters — that neither he nor the “Christians” see anything wrong with their methods becuase their objectives are so Holy. I think the RNC realized that the only way they have a chance at getting Rethug corruption off the table for 2006 was to offer up a major-league sacrifice. </p> <p>So the Rethug talking point is going to be, “But Delay’s gone.
