From the Ben Domenech resignation announcement on the WaPo blog online from Jim Brady:

We appreciate the speed and thoroughness with which our readers and media outlets surfaced these allegations. Despite the turn this has taken, we believe this event, among other things, testifies to the positive and powerful role that the Internet can play in the the practice of journalism. (emphasis mine)
We like to think of ourselves as a group of citizens who respect the facts, the truth, and that bad actions ought to have consequences. Nice to see you recognize that as useful, Jim, although you’ll have to forgive me if I’m not quite ready to say "bygones" just yet, given our history.
PS — It was awfully big of you to thank all those internet Columbos for their thorough sleuthing. Just thought you should know that I noticed. (And you still owe Jane an apology for being a jerk.)
