I am thrilled to announce that Glenn Greenwald has some news: he’s finishing a book which is scheduled to be published in May 2006. This could not come at a better time, in terms of the public debate — we’ve all been discussing the separation of powers issues and the question of our nation of laws being sacrificed on the alter of Presidential power by the Bush Administration over the last few months. Glenn’s book, entitled "How Would a Patriot Act? Defending American Values from a President Run Amok" will hit all of this head on — and I can’t think of a better voice to lead this charge than Glenn’s.
The principal reason I am so excited by this book is because, as I have said from the time this scandal first emerged, what will determine the outcome of this law-breaking scandal specifically, and the crisis of lawlessness which we have in our government generally, is whether the public realizes how radical and dangerous this Administration has become and demands that it be held accountable. I have always emphatically believed and have repeatedly said that if Americans are truly informed about how radical and extreme this President has become with regard to the powers he claims he possesses, most Americans will find it intolerable. At its core, this scandal is not and has never been about the scope of eavesdropping powers which the Government ought to have. It is much more significant than that. We face a genuine and profound crisis as a country because we have a President who has continuously exploited the threat of terrorism and engaged in rank fear-mongering in order to expressly claim the power to act without any checks or limits at all — including, literally, the power to break the law. And he has been exercising that law-breaking power aggressively and enthusiastically in numerous ways, all of which are radically changing our national political character and the system of government that we have had since our founding. It is that belief in his own monarchical power that led the President to eavesdrop on Americans in precisely the way that our country, thirty years ago, made it a criminal offense to engage in. And the President’s illegal warrantless eavesdropping is but one example which arises out of these truly radical and decisively un-American theories of power which this Administration has adopted and put into practice. The Administration’s ideology of lawlessness, in every respect, is contrary to the most basic and fundamental values on which our country was founded and which have defined who we are as a nation for the last 225 years.
Amen. I’ve said this repeatedly through all of our work on this issue: this is a fundamental American question, not one that ought to put politics first but, rather, one wherein the Constitution and our national values and laws ought to be in the fore for everyone. In my mind, you are either an Accountability Patriot or you are just one more rubber stamp for the White House. How would a patriot act? Truly, a brilliant concept for a book, and a brilliant mind behind it in Glenn. I cannot wait to read it.Glenn says that pre-orders will start soon on Amazon (we’ll let you know when that is possible as soon as we know). You build a wall brick by brick. Kudos to Glenn for helping to do some of the heavy lifting.

About Firedoglake
Fitz & Feingold!
Welcome to the new place, Christy. Thanks for all your work. I watched the C&L excerpt from your C-SPAN appearance, and you did great. And, you weren’t being set up like the folks at WaPo did ya.
As an accountability patriot, I find it harder and harder to interact with my many friends and acquaintences who still genuflect at the mention of Bush’s name, or with Dems who still want to compromise with the GOP on anything.
Oh, FITZ
How was the birthday party?
Congrats on getting the new site up. It looks terrific!
Let me repost an earlier commment of mine frmo this morning, which is now on topic:
Good news!
Glenn Greenwald is making his full crossover to talkling head punditocracy via a book:
http://glenngreenwald.blogspot…..-act_20.ht ml
Recall that many of the talking heads with whom we are now familiar made their debut during Clenisgate. The attack blondes, like Coulter. Jonathan Turley. Bob Barr. Many others.
Now, Christy has begun the crossover during the Great Republican Implosion of ‘06. Markos is touring with his book. Now Glenn.
Having a published book makes you something the esatblishment understands and can respect. Having a blog is not as strong as having a book.
The news of Glenn publishing a book set to come out in May is outstanding.
Read “Crashing the Gate” yesterday. What an inspiring and enlightening book. Can’t wait for Mr. Greenwald’s book!
Any chance of getting an alphabetized blog roll? Is there a method to its madness, or just randomness?
I like the line I read somewhere (maybe even here?) this weekend, “The Constitution is NOT a legal technicality.”
I hope almost all the transition bumps and bugs are done.
From the last thread — since the new word that comes to mind WRT this adminsitration is incompetent — Gore is the perfect antidote — can competence finally become a virtue?
I am looking forward to reading the book. It couldn’t come at a better time.
OT – the growing pains (more and more traffic) of this site remind me when Kos was first experienced an upsurge. Especially during the debates, every single time there would be live blogging on the debate and Kos would crash. Not enough servers. And Kos would add another one, and next debate, traffic would surge again and oops, another crash. Another server.
Once people begin to trust a blog, more and more will come. And right after the move, and then with the Washington Journal exposure, traffic will jump. I sure hope growing room was built into the move. It is kinda like buying a house when you have 2 kids, and the next birth gives you 4 more. oops, new house too small.
Coyoteville — I used that line in a post this past week. But I can’t remember if it was mine originally or if I pulled it for the post. Would have to go back and look. I’m a little scattered today — a bit exhausted from the drive to DC, tv appearance, and then drive back home, all within a two day span. The adrenaline surge only lasts so long, and then you have to switch to coffee. lol
Love THIS (CNN online poll):
Has the Bush administration been effective in handling public relations on efforts in Iraq?
Yes 9% 9130 votes
No 91% 93893 votes
Total: 103023 votes
LMAO!!!
Iraq is going according to plan
from gregpalast.com
Bush Didn’t Bungle Iraq, You Fools
THE MISSION WAS INDEED ACCCOMPLISHED
by Greg Palast
for The Guardian
20 March 2006
Get off it. All the carping, belly-aching and complaining about George Bush’s
incompetence in Iraq, from both the Left and now the Right, is just dead wrong.
On the third anniversary of the tanks rolling over Iraq’s border, most of the 59
million Homer Simpsons who voted for Bush are beginning to doubt if his mission
was accomplished.
But don’t kid yourself — Bush and his co-conspirator, Dick Cheney, accomplished
exactly what they set out to do. In case you’ve forgotten what their real
mission was, let me remind you of White House spokesman Ari Fleisher’s original
announcement, three years ago, launching of what he called,
“Operation
Iraqi
Liberation.”
O.I.L. How droll of them, how cute. Then, Karl Rove made the giggling boys in
the White House change it to “OIF” — Operation Iraqi Freedom. But the 101st
Airborne wasn’t sent to Basra to get its hands on Iraq’s OIF.
“It’s about oil,” Robert Ebel told me. Who is Ebel? Formerly the CIA’s top oil
analyst, he was sent by the Pentagon, about a month before the invasion, to a
secret confab in London with Saddam’s former oil minister to finalize the plans
for “liberating” Iraq’s oil industry. In London, Bush’s emissary Ebel also
instructed Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum, the man the Pentagon would choose as post-OIF
oil minister for Iraq, on the correct method of disposing Iraq’s crude.
And what did the USA want Iraq to do with Iraq’s oil? The answer will surprise
many of you: and it is uglier, more twisted, devilish and devious than anything
imagined by the most conspiracy-addicted blogger. The answer can be found in a
323-page plan for Iraq’s oil secretly drafted by the State Department. Our team
got a hold of a copy; how, doesn’t matter. The key thing is what’s inside this
thick Bush diktat: a directive to Iraqis to maintain a state oil company that
will “enhance its relationship with OPEC.”
Enhance its relationship with OPEC??? How strange: the government of the United
States ordering Iraq to support the very OPEC oil cartel which is strangling our
nation with outrageously high prices for crude.
Specifically, the system ordered up by the Bush cabal would keep a lid on Iraq’s
oil production — limiting Iraq’s oil pumping to the tight quota set by Saudi
Arabia and the OPEC cartel.
There you have it. Yes, Bush went in for the oil — not to get MORE of Iraq’s
oil, but to prevent Iraq producing TOO MUCH of it.
You must keep in mind who paid for George’s ranch and Dick’s bunker: Big Oil.
And Big Oil — and their buck-buddies, the Saudis — don’t make money from
pumping more oil, but from pumping LESS of it. The lower the supply, the higher
the price.
It’s Economics 101. The oil industry is run by a cartel, OPEC, and what
economists call an “oligopoly” — a tiny handful of operators who make more
money when there’s less oil, not more of it. So, every time the “insurgents”
blow up a pipeline in Basra, every time Mad Mahmoud in Tehran threatens to cut
supply, the price of oil leaps. And Dick and George just LOVE it.
Dick and George didn’t want more oil from Iraq, they wanted less. I know some of
you, no matter what I write, insist that our President and his Veep are on the
hunt for more crude so you can cheaply fill your family Hummer; that somehow,
these two oil-patch babies are concerned that the price of gas in the USA is
bumping up to $3 a gallon.
No so, gentle souls. Three bucks a gallon in the States (and a quid a litre in
Britain) means colossal profits for Big Oil, and that makes Dick’s ticker go
pitty-pat with joy. The top oily-gopolists, the five largest oil companies,
pulled in $113 billion in profit in 2005 — compared to a piddly $34 billion in
2002 before Operation Iraqi Liberation. In other words, it’s been a good war for
Big Oil.
As per Plan Bush, Bahr Al-Ulum became Iraq’s occupation oil minister; the
conquered nation “enhanced its relationship with OPEC;” and the price of oil,
from Clinton peace-time to Bush war-time, shot up 317%.
In other words, on the third anniversary of invasion, we can say the attack and
occupation is, indeed, a Mission Accomplished. However, it wasn’t America’s
mission, nor the Iraqis’. It was an Mission Accomplished for OPEC and Big Oil.

GrandmaJ — that’s true. Because our traffic is growing so quickly, we’re having to jump through a lot of hoops (that unfortunately do not come cheaply, so thank you Russ Feingold for buying an ad today!). I don’t know how Markos keeps up, I truly don’t — their traffic levels are nothing short of amazing.
OT but the ads are impinging on the center column, cutting off the first and last character on the lines of the post — even when my browser is set to full screen! Thought you might like to know.
Cheers,
Sissy
I’m getting a huge bug on this new home for firedoglake
I ALWAYS use contol+f, which brings up a “find” window, and I can search for my favorite posters
on this software, contol+f will at times freeze the browser and cause it to crash…I believe this happens if I push the control+f before the page is fully loaded…this is a VERY big bug
please fix
have the developers of the software look into this please
What accounts for the high cost of British gas, or petrol as it is known in the U.K.? Taxes, taxes, taxes.
Between approximately 65 and 75 percent of the price of gasoline in the U.K. is taken as taxes. U.S. drivers are paying a seemingly paltry 27 percent of their gas bill to the government.
So there might be other reasons for high gas prices in the UK.
And not that it isn’t about oil, but don’t you think that taking a line in a report (secret or not) that Iraq play nice as a member of OPEC as meaning we want Iraq to produce less oil to keep prices high a bit of a jump.
If the guy argued it was to keep Iraqi oil flowing West rather than East to China, that I might believe (the “Syriana” option, though with a lot more dead people).
Amen. I’ve said this repeatedly through all of our work on this issue: this is a fundamental American question, not one that ought to put politics first but, rather, one wherein the Constitution and our national values and laws ought to be in the fore for everyone.
Amen, indeed. This is the most frustrating aspect of the FISA and Plamegate scandals – they are clear cases of government misconduct, and the sorts of things any American with a functioning mind should be against. Yet, as we’ve seen, there are plenty of people who are willing to excuse this behavior, either because they’re partisans or because they are afraid.
That Paul Mirenoff (sp?) ReddHedd was debating on C-SPAN is a case in point. His spiel was virtually nonstop rationalization. She deserves immense credit for not just screaming “Are you out of your fucking mind?”, which is about the best I can manage in such circumstances.
Me to me – I don’t know what software you are using, but I’m on all relatively new MSFT software, and control f works fine.
me to me, I can use the EDIT in the top menu and the FIND option to search in this window.
it’s ie6, I’ve tried it on three computers to make sure it’s not mine
if I use control+f and hit enter on the keyboard before the page loads, the browser will freeze and crash
Cujo — my husband said he could tell the moment Paul had pushed me over the edge on the Libby question. He said “I’ve been on the receiving end of that look, and I just sat back and said ‘Here it comes.’” LOL
If I may suggest it, would everyone take a moment to click through on the advertisers on the front page?
me to me – Weird, I’m on IE 6.0 too.
A quick OT thought –
George Lakoff says that “Pro-Choice” is trumped by “Pro-Life” because Choice is a consumer value, while Life is a moral value.
So —
How about “Reproductive Freedom” instead of “Pro-Choice”?
“Reproductive Freedom” has the added benefit of expanding the battlefield to all reproductive issues, instead of limiting it to abortion. Since the GOoPer Fundie Wing Nuts are against sex and birth control, isn’t this the best way to fight them?
=====
I still hate having to move to the next page to finish reading…what about moving the graphic to the middle of the post so you can put more text on page one?
ck — I like that. Reproductive freedom versus forced birth.
Congrats to Glenn- I can’t wait to get my hands on his book- I finished reading ‘Crashing the Gate’ a while ago and it was inspirational. It’s good to know there are eloquent, impassioned people out there who see what is going on but also believe that things can change- for the better. In other words, do more than just bitching and moaning (which is kinda what I feel like I do a lot of lately).
Hopefully, Pelosi, Lieberman, Reid, Biden and others in the democratic party establishment read Glenn’s book too- they might learn something about REAL democracy.
Go figure
Christy and Jane,
I think I speak for almost all FDLers to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for what you are doing to improve the blog here. Having managed two (sometimes 4) Websites for myself, and having to handle traffic after national TV appearances, I know this isn’t easy, and those national TV hits never come at a convenient time (like after the new blog is set and all the bugs are out).
Our comments are feedback, not complaints — perhaps you could put up a daily technical thread where people can provide feedback on how the display looks on this end, bugs we find, etc so all the technical comments are in one place for you and your techie(s) to sort through.
If we sound impatient, it’s because we don’t want to miss anything, and we so value this community.
You go, girls! My heroes!
I like “unwilling host” a little better
Oh, btw, the President was just on the tele lying his ass off and saying that he never linked 9/11 and Saddam during a rare question and answer.
Why didn’t the reporter follow up with a quote showing he had? Probably because he wasn’t allowed to.
Think Progress has the goods.

One quick tech question — is blogspot now done? I can now see Jane’s post saying visit our new home, so does that mean no more active posting over there?
anotherpawn – although off topic here, I’m leaving a post for you here in accordance with your request in the most recent Haloscan thread.
oh oh oh!!!
howz this?
“willing host versus unwilling host”
ya, that’s my new tag
Reproductive Freedom is very good.
As importantly, since there is nothing pro life about the anti abortionists, can we work on changing what we call them. Something catchy, pithy would do. something like “Satanists” works for me.
Methinks there is some poetry and justice comin tagether in this country…Gore/Feingold in ‘07. Take over congress in November, impeach Bush AND Cheney, elevate Pelosi, she nominates Gore as VP and then abdicates, Gore nominates Feingold VP and they have 10 years insted of 8 to destroy the corporate snakes and cultivate a new nationalism.
KEEP THE FAITH, WIN THE ELCTION AND LET GOD TAKE CARE OF THE BASTARDS!!!
Favorite quotes from Bush’s speech today:
“Before we acted, his regime was defying U.N. resolutions calling for it to disarm. It was violating cease-fire agreements, was firing on American and British pilots which were enforcing no-fly zones.”
I found this interesting because it adds 2 new reasons for going to war in Iraq: violating ceasefires and firing on pilots patrolling the no fly zones. As far as I know, Saddam did not do the first and had been doing the second for years since no fly zones were not part of the original ceasefire agreements. By my count, these are the 11th and 12th reasons for our being in Iraq for which I have been able to find quotes. Never did find one backing up “to avenge his father” which is my unattested 13th.
The next quote basically says we will be in Iraq forever.
“The security of our country is directly linked to the liberty of the Iraqi people, and we will settle for nothing less than victory.”
The security of our country is not tied to Iraq although it could be argued that our insecurity is.
Bush’s finish:
“Americans have never retreated in the face of thugs and assassins, and we will not begin now.”
I thought this was apropos since we had recently been discussing Bush’s use of strawmen. “Retreat” implies we had some valid reason for being there in the first place or remaining there now. “Thugs and assassins” describe some but probably not most of those who oppose us and certainly overlooks the fact that many of our erstwhile allies fit this description as well. Implied in Bush’s words as well is the idea that there are some Americans who would so retreat, which effectively negates the premise that Americans don’t do this. In fact, in our history, we have retreated, take Vietnam for example. But maybe they weren’t “thugs and assassins”. So perhaps the best strategy for Iraqi insurgents would be to show they are not “thugs and assassins”, then we could retreat, no prob.
Kirby — if we can help it, yes. Trying to monitor two sites, two sets of comments threads and two sets of programming and posting headaches is exhausting. We are trying to be only here — and thus far today (other than the weird server glitch eariler this morning) things seem to be going pretty well. We’ll hopefully have the rest of the programming bugs in line shortly.
Jamie from Intoxination is a genius — he really has done a great job for us through every little thing that has cropped up.
Accountability Patriot or Rubber Stamp?
I love it!!
Memo to Dem Leaders: USE THIS PHRASE
Use it every day from now until November, use it till it is as familiar as flipflop. Use it till WE are the ones selling little rubber stamps for key chains and lockets like they did with flip flops.
Brilliant
Absolutely brilliant
OT – I’m just getting caught up on an earlier thread …
The C & L video on Bill Kristol and Britt Hume is interesting. I’ve generally lumped Bill Kristol with the Koolaid drinkers, but he certainly showed me something here. He used his political instincts to evaluate, accurately I think, the political merits of Sen. Feingold’s rhetorical stance. Juan Williams seems to have escaped his box for a moment, too.
Hume, as others have observed, still seems to have not regained the use of his mind.
I can’t remember where I read this, but I came across a story last week about a fellow in Virginia who was getting badgered at a hearing on gay rights. His questioner asked about up holding “God’s Law”. His reply was priceless. “Madam, when you took your oath of office, you placed your hand on the bible, and swore to uphold the constitution. You didn’t place your hand on the constitution, and swear to uphold the bible.”
Should be “Government forced birth”. Sounds more sinister.
Bravo on your appearance yesterday Christy. I though you presented yourself as an intelligent, informed advocate, and you delivered it with grace and dignity.
greenwalt’s been around the block a couple of times, no? he’s an experienced lawyer who talks to congressional staff with some frequency, or at least that how it appears on his blogs. i’m glad he’s “breaking thru” to the media chowderheads, or at least i hope he will now that he has a real, live, dead-tree style book in addition to his blogs.
Re Pach v. Norske on Gore – I tend toward the Pach camp – plus Gore’s horrible 2k missteps & pussyhood (LIEBERMAN) in my gut are just unforgivable – let Al be an elder statesman, I totally appreciate his kickass fire of late.
If I wasn’t queer I’d want to have Glenn G’s baby. Guy is fucking awesome.
Sharbabe, Exactly. Lieberman and his involvement in the DLC are hard to forget.
This is excellent news that Glenn is putting out a book, I can’t wait to buy it. It’s my hope that FDL will soon follow suit and put out something before the fall elections. Even if it’s some “Best of FDL” it would educate more constituents.
I have friends that are still not online for one reason or another that give me that wistful look when I talk about the blogs. They’re curious, and terribly disillusioned with what is happening in our country. They’re waking up to the fact that the media isn’t telling them any truths, it’s dawning on them they need to get with the program and find out what the hell IS going on and what they can do about it. Those type of people desperately need some basic primers for fresh enlightenment. And wouldn’t it be a dream come true if the progressive that bought the Knight-Ridder newspapers would put out a national weekly of highlights of the best of the blogs.
Any plans in the works for any kind of a book Jane & Redd? Your pre-orders would go through the roof too.
Should be “Government forced birthâ€. Sounds more sinister.
Go cup! Brilliant. Let’s get it out there.
me to me @ March 20th, 2006 12:18 pm (#31)
Too scifi-ish for me. Also, it implies that the species of the mother is different from that of the child.
I’ll go with “Reproductive freedom versus forced birth”. It’s clear, accurately reflects the “pro choice” position, and it’s within the six-word maximum.

Otherwise I don’t think it sends enough of a message. It is not just oversight, it is oversight an end to the kleptocracy and lies.
So many thoughts on this thread…God I love this place!
-That is a frame. Nice.
-Gore/Obama or Gore/Feingold or Gore/Kermit, as long as it’s Gore. He is the only Dem out their that actually gets it. Completely. All of it.
-#14. Woah. Uh…woah. I think I need just the teensiest bit more information before I swallow that one. But I wouldn’t put it past these bastages for a second.
-Glenn has got to be one of the most amazing people I’ve ever read. I mean the guy shows up out of no where and is one of the most respected writers on the blogsphere seemingly overnight. (Gosh, I don’t know when I’ve thought that before. I’m looking at you Jane & Redd.) And every bit of it’s deserved.
-The thought that we are watching the growth of our own future “punditry” if you will, is immensely exciting. Simply for the fact that it’s real. It’s not a gimmick, just real (brilliant) people who love their country.
So Redd…I see books are all the rage these days. You know, I can think of one or two people that would love to see you write a book about the whole Fitzy investigation. To date your writing on that has been superb. Maybe putting it in book form should be on the radar.

Yup.
another FDL hiccup. One can only imagine the frantic behind-the-scenes tech machinations to keep this puppy up.
My last comment disappeared, along with at least two others. Either we’re having technical difficulties, or someone transgressed the unwritten law.

Ah yes, an especially insightful post of mine disappeared. Since it’s gone, you can’t disaprove it wasn’t insightful. You can only strongly suspect based on past evidence
punaise:
what if they had a constitutional crisis and nobody showed up?
Wasn’t that called the 2000 Presidential election?
Hugh – I can say empiracally that it was not only not insightful, but brilliantly so, having seen neither it nor any other of your posts. Keep up the fine non-work. (I felt like such a retard repug writing that) :)
Tweety’s update for today’s show says he will lead off with this new book, COBRA II, which I think the unofficial subtitle is, how Bush really really, screwed up Iraq.

I know I’m late to the party, but . . .
I like “Constitution Patriot.” For me, that get to the very core of what’s at stake here, and where our allegiance is. The Constitution is the ground of what defines America. Not the current regime in power, not the talking points du jour, not party platforms.
I’m sorry, but “Accountablity Patriots” sounds like we’re running around in green eyeshades, calculating costs vs. benefits or some such. Come to think of it, that’s the disease that’s got ahold of the DLC and Democratic so-called leadership in Congress . . .
Ewwwwwwww. They just showed a clip of the Rodeo Clown. And now they are going to have their daily discussion of What if Superman was a Nazi’s effect on the markets. They have Nader, Gary Hart, Pat Buchanan and some other guy. Fortunately, I have the volume low enough that I can’t really hear it. But the crawl is “The Price of Freedom.”
Even CNBC may no longer be safe.
“I like that. Reproductive freedom versus forced birth.”
Redd–I like “government-forced birth” even better–it reminds people who is to blame, and ought to force true conservatives to look at the issue differenty. If the government can force you to give birth, what can’t it force you to do?
The problem for me with Gore is that he’s just too damned straight. I mean, I like the man; he’s smart, decent and appears to be concerned about the right things. I also believe that he’s a genuine democrat (small d) despite his upper-class origins.
Having said that, though, I just can’t believe his Rebecca of Sunnybrook farm approach when it comes to saving whales and children. He seems to lack any sophistication at all about the darker parts of the human psyche. And then, there’s Tipper — gawd! How’d you like to be *her* teenage son or daughter.
Okay, Jimmy Carter was something of a prude too — concerned about lusting in his heart, etc., — and I admit that he didn’t make such a bad President. So maybe this isn’t a deal breaker, especially considering the alternatives, but I’d feel a lot happier with him if he’d at least to appear to have an Id once in a while. More to the point, I’d feel a lot safer if he’d acknowledge that the rest of us have one, and that we don’t want to give it up so that his kiddies won’t ever see anything bad.
Spaking of Gore, I highly recommend the new TAP article by cutey Ezra Klein on Gore. It should please Gore fans in da house:

A few post-speech Q&A session Bushism gems from Bush in Cleveland today:
- “History has proven that democracies can change societies. The classic case I like to cite is Japan. Prime Minister Koizumi is one of my best buddies in the international arena. And when we sit down, we talk the peace.â€
- “I knew we were at war. I knew that the enemy obviously had to be sophisticated and lethal to fly hijacked airplanes into facilities that would be killing thousands of people, innocent people, doing nothing, just sitting there, going to work.â€
- “Foreign policy used to be dictated by the fact we had two oceans protecting us. If we saw a threat, we could deal with it if you needed to you think, or not, but we’d be safe.â€
- “9/11 affected the way I think. I know these are like totalitarian fascists. They have an ideology. They have a desire to spread that ideology. And they’re willing to use tactics to achieve their strategy.â€
- “I, obviously, had a trip recently to India and Pakistan and Afghanistan and was able to see in India and in Pakistan both — it is a positive development to be a friend of Pakistan. It’s a positive development for India for America to be a friend of Pakistan. And it’s a positive development for Pakistan for America to be a friend of India.â€
- “The problem is our employers don’t know whether they’re hiring people, because there’s a whole forgery industry around people being smuggled into the United States. There’s a smuggling industry and a forgery industry. And it’s hard to ask our employers, the onion guy out there, whether or not the documents he’s being shown which look real are real.â€

I clicked anyway, and guess what–no comments were displayed. Also, there are no longer e-mail capabilities available to Jane or Redd/Christy.
Thanks, Jane and Redd/Christy for the wonderful site and your obviously frustating diligence and perserverence to excellence and getting things correct–in the posts and at the new site. And I appreciate and learn so much from you and the commentors. Thank you.
I will always hang in there… Can’t get enough.
Love you all,
Love fdl
