Christy Hardin Smith!
This place seems deserted.
I watched the clip at Crooks & Liars, Redd. Nice job. I’m glad you pounced on the republican suit when he tried to minimize Libby’s charges, saying it was only perjury. And you held your ground when he tried to talk over you. It was almost–almost–enough to get me to start watching Sunday morning TV. Next time you are on, I will.
Good on ya Christy! Wonderful job.
Really great job. I’m sorry I didn’t catch it all on CSPAN, but the clip on C&L was inspiring. It’s really too bad that time ran out before it could be pointed out that just because a charge is not in the endictment does not absolve the players in moral and ethical responsibility for impropriety. Ah well, next time, I hope! Congratulations.

Aloha Redd. I caught the whole appearance on CSPAN last night. (I’m in Hawaii so it was 2:45AM for me)
I thought you were so terrific that I took the time to upload and convert the video to Flash 8 for streaming. (Don’t worry, I was working on video production anyways)
I’ve got it streaming from my blog now. If you’d like to host the video directly to your blog as well, just let me know. (Send me an email to my ‘Blogger’ profile) I have the bandwidth to spare for it. it’s actually quite easy to do.
Essentially you just need to paste a paragraph of code I’ll send you into your blog post and then publish it. It won’t require any additional bandwidth for you.
Aloha again and Congrats Christy! You are a class act!

It should work with WordPress as well.
Super job Christy. You did a great and made us all proud. Didn’t get to see it live as I was on a plane but caught it on Crooks and Liars.
great job, Redd! you more than held your ground and made some very substantive points. how refeshing that you weren’t limited to fifteen second sound bites.
Wow! Godwin’s law should have been invoked within the first 15 seconds of Mirengoff opening his yap. *geesh*
And it really is hard to watch Mirengoff sit there and lie so smugly about the Busheviks not stovepiping the evidence for WMDs. *gag*
Wonderful job. I’m looking forward to your next one!
I sill haven’t had a chance to catch the video, but I’m sure you did great.
Though I’m curious. Being on TV for the first time, did you find yourself wondering if old college and high school friends would see you and freak out?
God knows if I ever did something like that I’d have people crawling out of the woodwork saying, “Hey, I know that guy! What the hell is that guy doing talking about politics?”
Over at Powerline, Mr. Mirengoff had some nice things to say about Ms Smith.
Redd: You’re a talking head natural. Keep it up. I want you on one of those roundtable discussions on MTP or This Week.
A couple things:
First, it was great not to have to see a screaming match, or to have the host acting as a cheerleader for one side or the other.
Second, I was wowed by your unflappable ability to stay on point, and at the same time make mincemeat out of the standard Bush White House talking points, revealing the coating of slime that accompanies their minimizing of felony charges.
Great job!
OT: Holy crap. I don’t get cable, so this is the first time I’ve actually seen what Redd looks like, and she looks very eerily similar to my aunt.
From blogger to talking head, I hope this is the start of a trend.
You did a great job but need to work on the UM’s and ER’s to move up to the Networks, which is where we need you.
Christy,
I noticed Mirengoff referred to a David Ignatius column that apparently offered some optimism on Iraq and by inference, the Bush policy, whatever that is.
Didn’t think much about the comment but then heard Brit Hume reference the same column and basically say the same thing later on Fox News Sunday.
Peculiar? Sounds like the “right” had their talking points down for the day.
Great job by the way.
Chessie — they graciously gave me a copy of the appearance on DVD. I got to watch myself for the first time yesterday evening — and the “ums” jumped out at me as well. I don’t normally do that in conversation, unless I’m really nervous — guess I was a lot more nervous than I thought yesterday.
But the show copy gives me something to work on if there is a next time — as my husband said to me yesterday, “if this is the worst you ever do, it’s poretty darn good.” I’ll take it (but the perfectionist side of me wants to do better, so I’ll try to learn from the tape). Thanks to everyone for the comments and constructive criticism!
Redd,
Nice job. I am soo glad C&L had the clip, I managed to sleep through your appreance. Did you get a chance to make the point that it was Libby’s alleged lies that kept him and others from being charged with security violations?
I saw the show yesterday and was impressed with Redd. C&L gave the address to this website and here I am! heard good things about so I will check it out. Hey you did good going up against that guy from powerline
Christy,
Excellent presenatation, clear concise, to the point. When are you announcing your run for the Senate!
Christy you were great and its what I need for hope that this country can still fight for its freedom. I beginning to think that the oil companys are the illumnatti that will roll over anyone to get what they want. Your a patriot. Thank you
Hi Redd, I’m no media maven, and without Tivo I was only able to view the C&L segment. I agree with everybody that you did great. In your place I’d have been a blubbering bowl of jello. But since you’re open to constructive criticsm (the Ums and Ers) there’s a couple of things that I noticed:
1. At the end of a couple of long and thoughtful passages, you made a facial gesture – sort of scrunching up your mouth to one side and rolling your eyes as if to depict disdain or frustration or something. While endearing, on screen it seemed a bit distracting.
2. There was just a bit of repetition as you laid out the groundwork for some of your points. A bit of concision – at the obvious risk of skipping over some thoroughness – might help hold the focus and “seal the deal”.
These are just minor quibbles from an unqualified observer who rarely watches TV. Your on-screen persona is very appealing. (why is this not a surprise?). Keep up the great work – we’re proud of ya!
Actually, I thought she was just O.K The Powerline guy clearly won the exchange. he had her on teh defensieve adn he gotin the last word. She (and Dem pundits) need to be far mroe agressive adn make th other side respond. Same old leftist reactive stuff here I’m afraid.
