Ayup. The King’s men were more civil than Bush&Co too.
I tend to think that the role of the tavern/inn/pub is wildly underestimated in the role of the American Revolution.

It should be noted that less than 15% of the land owners and farmers of the day really wanted to fight Santa Anna.</p> <p>My out gunned, out numbered and untrained ancestors handed Santa Anna’s Army one of the worst defeats in military history.<br /> Theres more than one way to fight this battle. The present majority in this country have not even been asked to sacrifice much of anything in the last decade or so except their tax dollars. The average American has certainly not been asked to give their life or love or sacred honor for anything other than pre-packaged, blow dried, Coporate Pseudo-Patriotism.

Almost 50% on average don’t even vote much less get off their duffs to express an intelligent opinion on the trials of the day.
