My Alarm is set!!!! Would not want to miss a minute of it… Give ‘em Hell!!!!
Hey Jane,
Some files here you might enjoy (also any other bloggers who might want to use them are welcome to as well)

Best,

go redd!
(and… fitz!)
Here I was channeling my inner Cheney, swaggering and scrolling my way across the keyboard after bagging FOUR consecutive Fitz firsts on FDL.
I’m the man – my electrons don’t smell.
Now I find all the action is on fdl classic, and my run of “fitz’s” is as meaningless as a brace of hand-fed tame quail shot killed on a canned hunt.
Damn – I’m still channeling my inner Cheney.
I promise not to shoot anybody in the face.

Look, I’m no genius at composing these diaries. There are folks like Hunter and Dood Abides and emptywheel whose work blows me a way. But this censure issue is not rocket science. Rove and the Republicans want 2006 to be what they call a “choice election.” They made 2004 a choice between Bush and Kerry, and then proceeded to trash a war hero so they could get their idiot candidate 47% of the vote and then steal the remaining 3% through election fraud.
The alternative to a “choice election” is a “referendum election” and even the “worst/stupidest president ever” can figure out how a referendum on a 33% President is going to turn out…
So all of you Dem Pro/DLC/Pudwhackers out there help me understand this…
kant’s diary :: ::
If we want to make this election a referendum on Bush, why don’t we use censure to push the Rethugs right into his arms.
If they want to defend illegal wiretapping, let them.
If they want to defend leaking CIA agent’s identities, let them.
If they want to defend the lies that led us to a 1-2 trillion dollar war. let them.
If they want to defend Abu Grahaib, let them.
If they want to defend Katrina, let them.
If they want to defend a 9 trillion dollar debt, let them.
If they want to defend tax cuts for the rich, let them.
If they want to defend a moronic medicare drug program, let them.
But for CRYING OUT LOUD, don’t stand there with them.
Even though Feingold’s censure resolution focused on NISA, it is easy to imagine how the campaign could play out…
We don’t need no stinkin’ Contract with America…
IF YOU WANT TO CENSURE THE PRESIDENT FOR THE JOB HE HAS DONE, VOTE DEMOCRATIC!
Is there any easier way to make 2006 a “referendum election”?
What is so friggin hard about that?
OK, so I may not be as sharp as many if not most of my fellow diarists, but even a chimp can see that no Rethug wants to defend Bush in this election… Why are Dems making their jobs so friggin easy? Just stand with Russ.
Sorry I’m going to miss it. Looks like C-SPAN has an archive, though. Give ‘em hell, ReddHedd.
GO REDD!!!
T minus three minutes to Redd.
The things I suffer through out of loyalty to this blog. The idiots calling in to this show are terrifying.
How to stop the war in Iraq.
General Electric corporation operates as one defense contractor that also makes consumer items that they sell to the public.
If you want to do something to stop the war, get as many people as you can this month to call, email write to General Electric comapny in Connecticut and tell them, unless your CEO can get the GOP to hold a press conference anouncing that they will get George W Bush to withdraw the troops,
You will not buy any of the following General Electric products:
Light bulbs, ovens, refrigerators, televisions, stereos, vcrs, and any other appliances with the GE logo.
Browse http://www.ge.com for their web page. It has contacts for their public relations department.
The way to stop the Republican Party comes from boycotting their contributors and making demands of those contributors.
it’s 755 and I can’t get the stream
Join the campaign for progressive legislation
http://www.boycott-republicans.com
I seek activist volunteers in Speaker Dennis Hastert’s district in Illinois to pass this letter around for a project that will force the speaker to enact progressive legislation. I also seek volunteer activists in Tennessee to do this project to force Senator Frist to enact progressive legislation.
If you want to send me email please place the word PRIVATE in the subject or it will not reach me. Thank you.
Send the following letter to Speaker Hastert and Senator Frist. After you send them email or US mail drop me an email that you sent them email so I can keep track of how many emails and letters they receive, thank you.
Pass this progressive agenda or face a mass boycott of Republican contributors.
I demand that you get the Republican Party to hold a press conference and accede to these demands. Until such a press conference happens and the legislation and/or actions gets passed I will boycott products from Republican contributors Walmart, Wendy’s, Outback Steak House, Dominos Pizza, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Eckerd, CVS and Walgreens, Curves for women health clubs, GE and Exxon/Mobil.
I demand that congress pass legislation ending the war in Iraq and withdraw the troops and arrange with the United Nations to replace US troops with UN troops to defend Iraq until The Iraqi army can defend Iraq.
I demand that the Republican party end their aggressive and hateful action to end a woman’s right to choose abortion or not.
I demand that the Congress of the United states and the president of the United States enact a law to increase the minimum wage to TEN dollars an hour and also to extend unemployment benefits to a year or more for all people whose unemployment benefits expired after 6 months even though they still seek work.
I demand that the Congress of the United States to not privatize social security benefits in any form including taking a percentage of the social security tax and placing it in private accounts. People can already create their own pensions with money after taxes in the private sector.
I demand that the congress make all of a person’s earned income taxable for social security FICA tax purposes and remove the 88,000 dollar taxable income limit. This will make social security solvent for many years to come.
I demand the congress increase the payroll tax in order to make social security solvent as well.
I demand congress and the president enact a prescription drug benefit under Medicare Part B which covers 80 percent of medication cost, with no extra premium, no extra deductibles, no means test and no coverage gaps, and no penalties for signing up in a succeeding year.
I demand congress repeal the faulty Medicare law HR 1 / S 1 passed by congress in Nov 2003.
I demand congress enact single payer universal health insurance for every citizen as minimum coverage.
I demand that congress and the president enact universal vote by mail throughout the 50 states of the United States of America with paper ballots easy to fill out and difficult to change or invalidate by Republican Party officials. This will prevent Republicans from vote suppression by skin color and political party which happened electronically and in person in the 2000 and 2004 elections.
I demand that congress and the president enact that civil servants on every state payroll keep track of voter registrations and vote counting of mail in votes in each precinct and not companies such as Choicepoint. We need to take the Republican Party out of the business of keeping track of voter registration and counting votes.
I demand that congress and the president ban the secretary of state in each of the 50 states from engaging in politics especially acting as a campaign official for a presidential campaign.
I demand congress enact legislation protecting private pensions from corporations deliberately declaring bankruptcy or ending pensions outright.
I do this in the spirit of peaceful resistance to a congress that refuses to enact this legislation.
————————————————————————————————————————————————
Then call your local franchise or store that sells products of companies mentioned for boycott and tell them unless the Republican Party enacts the above demands, you will no longer do business with them, so get the CEO of the parent company to get the GOP to accede to these demands. No company wants thousands of people boycotting them espcially getting thousands of phone calls from citizens demanding a progressive agenda enacted or they lose our business.
Tell others to send this mail and to call these companies local franchises. In the case of General Electric call your local store that sells General Electric products.
Do Republicans do better than Democrats on National Defense and National Security?

There’s a live thread running on Kos for Redd’s CSPAN appearance.
Red, you are rocking on C-Span. I love the fact you laft Paul sputtering when you pointed out Clinton got impeached over a “procedurel” error.
Somehow, when all these republicans were drinking the kool aid, it must have erased their memories of what they were raging against Clinton. Also, do they remember any of the promises GWB made before being appointd to office?
This is the first I’ve heard of your blog (I spend most of my time on myleftwing.com. I’ll be back.
Thanks
Great job. I never heard of you. Was reading dailt kos. Will add you to my list.
Old Goat, not many people want to read your long screeds about James Trafficant and economics.
I don’t.
Just watched CNN. GREAT Segment. Wow! So articulate. Not only a fantastic blogger but a fantastic TV presence as well.
Go Firedoglake!
I want to comment about the wire tapping. I think I finally have figured it out. Globslization has moved many job to places all over the world. That said you have to ask yourself, if you are a terrorist, how do you communicate with other cell within this country. The easiest way would to become employed by one of the many support company which daily contact you and I. Within their job they can call anywhere in our country.
The wire tapping is therefore much larger than anyone of us can imagine. To those who say “So what. I don’t have anything to hide.” I offer these two scenarios. If I call my brother who is working Kwait and talk to him and he offer to send me some money and I say to him; Thanks but I sold our old home where the mall was built before mom died. I made a killing off that. I was going to report it to IRS but after her death I just moved into her house.
Three weeks later the IRS show up at your door.
The second scenario is that I running for major in a city in the midwest. I’m short of money and it’s approaching election. He says he is making big bucks and will send me what I need. I tell him that I need it immediately if I going to compete. My brother says he will wire what I need. For some reason the wire is delayed until after the election. It our freedom let keep it. Now NAS maybe using the wire tapping only to fight terrorism but who’s to say that some bright and ambitious young person isn’t going to do more with this Information? Get rid of Bush and make our world whole again.
I just want to say the lady on Washington
Journal surely had the platform.
She know what she was talking about
with the issues of the iraq war.
She know that true planning has to be
though out on the what-if facts.
Nice job Redd, erm Christy…
You do credit to balanced argument without condecending or lying.
There were so many moments which you could have responded ‘cough-bullshit’ but it would not have advanced the argument.
Thank you for your restraint.
I have to say, the numbering is very convenient for skipping over very long posts. A nice visual which clearly shows when the post is over.
Yay, Christie! Good job.
Since it’s not even 6am here on the west coast, I’m going back to bed for a while. It was definately worth it getting up so early.
old goat
while the Fed is undoubtably an ‘interesting’ entity and there is plenty of tinfoil hat material
(I like to sport such headgear myself from time to time)
Hyperlinks work so much better than multipage posts in someone else’s comments
Manners, you know?
(BTW – Say hi to Lyndon for me)
Redd,
Caught pieces of your appearence. I missed most of it, getting the toddler ready for church. It was a treat to see and hear you. Will have to find the transcripts.

Old Goat, if you have this much to say, get your own blog. Just sayin.
Er, Old Goat, my scroll button is wearing out. Why not get a blog of your own and just link if you have something *that* long to post?
On topic: I really enjoyed watching Redd this morning. She did a great job making points with style and grace. I half expected the guy from Powerline to bloviate and shout, but was pleased by the civil discourse. I wish all politcal discussions could be that way.
Nice job Christy. As always, you were on top of things and got your points across very well. On the other hand, the gerbil (or whatever that icon is supposed to be), had a lot of trouble trying to remember his talking points.
Why am I not surprised that gerbil never read firedoglake before? Sounds like he is trapped in the bush bubble and has a hard time responding to opinions that differ from his alternate reality.
I hope that C-Span does this left/right blogger faceoff thingy more often…if only to expose the right bloggers for what they are, recipients and relayers of GOP talking points. It could be lots of fun.
Digby v. Assrocket
Tbogg v. Malkin
Gilliard v. All the rest of them
would be as ass kicking…
Digby would have to wear a paper bag over his head to protect his secret identity though. He could wear a pony mask in tribute to Holden.
I forgot the steel cage death match…Wolcott v. boob job. That one would be over fast.
Dear Buckfush, (what is that?), you are either FOR the ORIGINAL U.S. CONSTITUTION, or you are AGAINST it. Which is it?
If you are FOR it, fine and good, but if you are AGAINST it, then that means you are either one of them or are a sympathizer to these thieves that have stolen the Amerikan people blind !! Again, which is it?
Is there a streaming archive for those of us watching Sesame Street at 7:45?
No wonder Amerika is in the trouble She is in when people like you guys and gals won’t even take the time to read what has happened to you and this Great Nation over the last 90 years !! It’s a very sad state of affairs when a people won’t even stand up and fight to get their freedom and liberty back !! I think I’ll go to where the people are interested in getting their freedom and PROPERTY back ! See ya !
You did good Christy,I was quite impressed.Very unusual to see political disscusion on the idiot box so non combative. No finger pointing, personal attacks assorted B/S.Never make it on fox news like that(god forbid). Two thumbs up!
P.S. Was anyone else amused by the pissed off at Bush republicans that called in.
Old Goat,
You missed the point. It was the length, which got several complaints not the topic or our lack of interest. You could have condensed it to the salient points and linked the remaining ice berg, like the rest of us are asked to do by the blog owners. Everyone here is articulate, intelligent, and well read on a wide range of subjects, including economics and gold which has been discussed here many times. We’d be more than happy to follow a link on a piece of research. Thank You.
Thanks for going on C-Span, Cristy. Your perspective is much appreciated. Yesterday, our group, Veterans For Peace, met here in Pueblo , Colorado and concluded that if we do not take back the Congress, we will never be able to impeach Baby Bush & F-You Cheney and that will only leave a civil revolt to take back out country. Wayne Smyer, disabled veteran & mad as hell!!
Informative and intelligent C Span interview. I am one of the many Americans who are scared that we will never get our country back. I have always been an independent voter, but it seems that no longer works if we want to make changes.
You will not buy any of the following General Electric products:
Light bulbs, ovens, refrigerators, televisions, stereos, vcrs, and any other appliances with the GE logo.
It would be an empty threat. I don’t buy any of their crap (and it is crap–all of it). They don’t make a damned thing I want or need.
Glad you did so well on C-SPAN, Redd, but I expected nothing less of you. :)
I watch most of Journal at C-Span almost every morning, however since I retired in December I do occasionally sleep in. I enjoyed watching you and thought Paul was even civil for a conservative. What was even more amazing was that there weren’t any Republicans calling in calling Democrats names. I had heard of your site before but had never read it until tonight.. Most of the time I stick with the local bloggers because they also cover the local items.
Finally! Today Blizzard updated World of Warcraft to version 1.10.2 Tuesday, a patch that includes a variety of small bug fixes, including a Mac-specific one. The fixes cover both character-specific changes and broader environment issues. It’s about time!
I like to think of myself as a smart girl, but there are a ton who are smarter than me. At least I’m not like Dubbya who has called himself “the Deciderâ€. HAHA – That’s so funny!
