Thanks Parachutec and emptywheel, for your thoughts . . . It makes sense that he would want to protect his evidence to date and hope that they continue to hang themselves. I wondered that too, if he was hoping they would screw up even more . . .

I gotta say it bothers me, though, that people like Rove haven’t been fired. I wish Fitz would encourage Bush to fire Rove. Then Rove would be suspended, cut off from his power, and I think that might be even more valuable to Fitz than to have him in the thick of his machinations. . . if not to Fitz, valuable at least to the country.

re the Mormons, one of the reasons they are in the Repugs camp is this: they have a little thing called ‘lying for the Lord,’ where it’s considered ok to lie to non-believers, in order to further the glory of the church (or to sell them a used car, in the secular sense)

sounds pretty close to the current regime’s core values to me!

Geeze, I walk with my hubby and go to the grocery store and all heck breaks out. It took an hour to catch up with the threads and comments. FWIW, while I was in the car NPR news up date said Fritz had a new grand jury. The got it wrong a bit, but the point was they thought it was important enough to have it in their hourly news summary.

I’m another one of the addicted FDL readers. Some day I hope there is a book … and maybe a great movie with the two heroines who followed the story and provided news, analysis, and hope for their many loyal readers… The new age of reporting stories…

(And one with a uncooperative toddler at home besides!!!!)
