It seems that Michael Brown, who was desperately trying to shop his resume for a PR job (with no takers) after the Katrina debacle, has found a new job. Yes, somebody actually hired the guy.
But wait…it gets better. He’s been hired by FEMA — to help evaluate how FEMA responded to the disaster.
I…just…I need a nap.

About Firedoglake
The revolving door spins round and round
His report can be summarized in one line:
“They put me in charge.”
Who better to give advice on what went so disastrously wrong with federal disaster response then a highly paid Arabian horse association attorney?
Lily Tomlin put it best: “No matter how cynical I get, it’s never enough.”
Is that FEMA? Federally Empowered Moron Association? m
What kind of welfare state is this?
How can they get away with this? Clinton couldn’t even get a little hook up with the intern on the side without getting impeached. How do these fuckers keep getting away with this level of corruption?
Oh, btw:
Brown’s 2004 salary was $145,600, according to the Plum Book, a congressional reference guide to executive branch salaries.
ann — you clearly got an advance copy of brown’s congressional statement. lol.
Actually, Brown was never taken off the payroll at FEMA. I agree that they are keeping him around to control him. Although, I can’t figure out why – he’s proven a party loyalist already. If he speaks out about anything during Katrina, he’s just going to blame it on the local government – he’s not going take any of the blame himself or admit to any wrong doing.
Good soldiers get paid off. One thing you have to say about this administration: it may be corrupt as hell and destructive to the welfare of the American people, but they make their pay-offs. They never stiff anyone on a pay-off.
Your kidding me, right? Tell me this is a very bad joke.
I believe that he’s serving out the two weeks left until his resignation takes hold.
Let’s wait and see. I can believe that these guys are that stupid, but let’s see what’s happening first. If this is really true, between arresting Sheehan and then re-hiring Drownie, there’s no way that they can hold on to public opinion or the media.
Yeah, I thought about that too, Reddhedd.
Vampires and Zombies are rank amateurs compared to BushCo.
Guess they don’t want any more discussions between him and the Enquirer.
They’re buying his silence.
